The FUN LIFE crew helped take great pictures and the whatsapp correspondence was quick efficient and friendly, ms ng. Wear shorts, slippers and colourful clothes. They provide rainbow umbrellas and help take photos for you as they are experts at taking the photos. Youll leave your slippers on board while you are out taking photos. Duration is 2.5 hrs. Around the jetty fun life there is one kopitiam for breakfast and about 3 main seafood shops.
Just be mindful that that the water can be a little choppy and is not for the very faint hearted.

Took a short drive from KL to Kuala Selangor for a short get away. The beach is just ok. There're more things to do though, there's a temple to visit, eagle sightings, fire flies, and a hill with a light house and historical monuments to visit. Also came across a surprising shop just behind Tesco that sells unique fusion of cendol and tom yam, i think it's call snow ice cendol. What's surprising is the cendol doesn't taste like those cendol you get along the streets, the people in the shop claimed they use pure gula Melaka and it tasted good, I think better than those I tried from Penang/Melaka some how, and it's in a shop so you'll get sheltered from the hot sun as well, highly recommend to try it out as it's not expensive as well.

We did the Sky Mirror tour with Fun Life at Selangor again and we set off at the Sky Mirror jetty at about 10 am. The timing varies every month based on tide timing. We thought the Sasaran sand strip or sandbar will be crowded as such tour can be done only several days a month during the new & full moon periods.. We were surprised to see a vast sandbar or sand strip that seemed to stretch far & beyond, no wonder the locals called it the Sasaran beach.
Fun LIfe's boat captain & photographer were extremely patient and experienced. We spotted several dolphins to & fro the journey to the Sasaran sandbar. There was no rush throughout the duration of our photos to catch the sky-mirror effects. Every boat comes with a very experienced photographer (there were 4 Fun Life at Selangor boats that day) and we spent a solid 2.5 hours at Sasaran Sky Mirror.
Fun LIfe at Selangor boats looked new and appeared to be well maintained and their life jackets were relatively new too.
Communication with Ms Ng, the co-owner of the family-run tour, was very easy & she is always prompt & clear in her replies. She even sent us the details on what to expect, where to park, the maps of Kuala Selangor and what to bring prior to our trip. You will need to provide your passport details for insurance purposes as regulated by the local tourism board for the safety and security of visitors 3 days before the visit.
We strongly recommend a trip to Kuala Selangor - the shops & streets of this fishing village still very much retains its old kampung charm.

Twice a month during the new & full moon period, the tide waters will be shallow enough for a natural sand bar to emerge in the Straits of Malacca. This creates a mirror effect that reflects the sky perfectly.
The beauty of nature takes my breath away. It is very calm and serene to stand in the middle of nowhere, feeling the sea breeze around you. Because of the perfect reflection, there's a sense of floating weightlessness.
We left early in the morning while the sky was still dark and arrived at the sand bar just as the day breaks. I booked the package with Wave Rest House & Cafe. Their service is efficient and thoughtful. Crew takes great care of the old and young in our party and also very helpful in taking photos for us.

A place found by a group of photographers two years ago, it soon became one of the attractions in Malaysia. Dubbed as the Sky Mirror, it is really a good place to take photos but if you’re not good in taking photos, a group of crew will help you with this. It’s worth a visit just to have photos but do not expect you can see other interesting attraction nearby because there is not much thing to visit.

To be honest, I wasn’t impressed by the place until I saw the photos. Although touted as a beach, it’s more like a sand bar/ flat that’s exposed only twice a month for visitors.
A few tips you need to be aware of:
1) Be mindful of what you wear. Super bright colours are recommended to colour contrast against the blue skies, white clouds and sand for the pics. Wear shorts as you may need to wade in the sea to get to the beach. And rubber slippers for easy management as you’d be asked to go barefoot from the boat
2) Travel light and put your valuables such as passport, money into zip lock baggies or a water proof bag. You’ve got no place to deposit your bags. Only on the wet sand and you don’t want your bags to get in the way of your photos too. Just stick to your camera phones for photos
3) Go to the toilet before you board the boat. Like I said earlier, nothing and nowhere on Sasaran to relieve yourself and you may be stuck there for up to 3 hours
4) Sun block or umbrellas will be your good friends. Bring a pretty or colourful umbrella, they also make good props for photos

Being an avid fisherman myself, this place is a convenient gateaway from those like us living in KL. Less than 2 hours drive, just take note to avoid weekends and PH as roads are congested around this area due to high traffic.

Heard of this wonderful natural place & one of nature's wonder.
I was trying to pinpoint this place via a satellite map or was looking for a drone to capture an aerial view but to no avail.
Skymirror did a superb job of ensuring safety & was very organised to arrange the adventurers to board the boat in an orderly manner. The ride was very choppy but none of our group was sea sick.I estimated the speed boat was travelling at 25 knots per hour reaching the destination 30 minutes later & it was awesome to see a sandbank of about 100 football fields right in the middle of Straits of Malacca.A big cargo ship just sailed past us & you could imagine how deep the water was. The ships captain really knew how to steer clear of the sand bank as well as avoiding hundreds of speed boats floating around the sand bank.We had a fun time taking pictures with mirror like effect. When it was time to leave, we were told to hurry before the high tide came which would submerg the sand bank & would drowned everyone within it.With that in mind, my thought went back to my kndergarten biblical story where Moses opened up the Red Sea and after the Israelites had crossed over to the other side, Moses commanded the sea to close thereby drowning all the pursuing Egyptian warriors, horses , chariots & all.Maybe that was how it happened.

I stayed at Wave Rest House & Cafe. It was basic but clean and value for money. Check with the homestay owner on the best days to visit. Sky mirror appears twice a month and the local fishermen knows the tides best. You can whatsapp him. Besides sky mirror, Wave Rest House also provides other activities such as oysters harvesting at Swan Island, mangrove tour & cycling etc. It's all included in the package.
