Après la déception de Grouse Mountain, nous sommes allés, sous la pluie, voir le barrage Cleveland, qui nous a impressionnés par sa puissance et par la beauté du lac.

This is a very beautiful place next to grouse mountain. Lake by the mountains is very beautiful and its a nice place for a good walk or picnic as well. Dam is small but pretty.

Walking towards the dam, you can enjoy the beautiful and peaceful scenery of the reservoir embracing by snow mountains. When you walk through the dam, you can see the waterfall from the dam running to the pond, so spectacular !

And with the bright sunshine and clear blue sky, it seemed appropriate to visit this dam. I wasn't terribly excited about the suggestion, but I found it both beautiful and intriguing. The level was very low, however: a sign of the climate crisis?

Que lugar incrível. É praticamente um cenário de filme essa represa. É um lugar incrível que da pra fazer até piquenique. Super recomendo a visita.

Free Parking, Awesome Park, you can walk the trails and walk onto the Dam's structure itself. Not to be overlooked or missed. Take a lunch for sure to enjoy overlooking the Reservoir lake

We stumbled across this dam after our Capilano excursions. Very beautiful wildlife, mist, trails, flora and fauna surround this dam.

Easy drive to the edge of the Dam location. A great view of the reserved water for the purposes of fresh water to the Greater Vancouver population. Watch when the dam opens and water crashes down the spillway into the lazy river below. Such a fortunate city with this fresh water availability. NO. You cannot boat on the water or partake in any other activity. You can take photos, You can observe the spillway. The water is protected as much as possible from human activity nearby.

Around how long is this hike & does anyone know the exact trail / directions to take in order to get to that lake area with the little green house in the back (w/ the mountain view)?

Will you have your own car? If so, you just drive up Capilano Road to the parking lot in the Capilano Regional Park. The walk to the top of the Cleveland Dam is only a few hundred feet. The Capilano Lake with the little green house is even closer from the parking lot. I happen to live 5 minutes away by car, so make many trips to take photos not only of the lake & dam, but the famous twin peaks called The Lions that are beyond Capilano Lake.

Can someone tell me if the dam is still under construction? I am bringing a group of older adults to the dam on Saturday Nov 19.

There is no construction on the dam, nor the park beside it. . . There might be some road work on the road that goes up to it, but it will allow traffic thru because it goes to major tourist attractions . . . well worth any minor delay. . .

This site allows you to enter your starting point and destination (public transit does go to the dam) and then tells you what bus to take, when it arrives, how long etc. btw, I'd suggest skip Capilano Suspension Bridge ($$$) and go to Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridget instead... the latter is free and is also accessible via transit.

I believe there are some bus stops but I too had a rental car, it's literally 4 minutes from the bridge, but what a sight.
I think a taxi can take you there, it's truly on the same road 4-5 minutes
