I would rate this an easy to moderate hike. For someone who’s not active and was carrying a 23lb baby, I managed to do it. Lots of steps up but also some flat grounds too. It’s a well marked and maintained hike. It took me and my family 45mins to go up and 45mins to get down. It does gets little busy but people do step aside when there’s narrow paths or stop for you to pass.
The only thing I have to say is that I found it a little more challenging going down because of the rocks and some of the big step down but aside from that it’s not bad. There is also a small playground by the parking lot too if your kids still have energy left from the hike.
My only suggestion would be to get there earlier so you can get parking. There is a bit of street parking but that gets full too. But don’t fret when the parking lot is full, just sit in your car and wait it out. Don’t drive and try to loop back because there’s a good chance that another car will pull up behind you from pulling into the parking lot and a person will be getting into their vehicle to drive off.

The trail, although inclined, is relatively easy because it is well paved. There are some less paved stretches but nothing impossible to do. The view from above is phenomenal.

This is an intermediate hike with lots of climbing. It’s not a very long hike and will take roughly 45 minutes to climb up. The views from the top is very beautiful

This is an extremely easy, extremely short, and extremely overcrowded trail. The locals must hate what tourists have done to it. The terrain and scenery are exactly the same as the rest of the North Shore, so if you skip this, you are not missing anything. Rude clueless tourists wreck the experience with relentlessly poor trail etiquette.

This was one of my first hikes in Vancouver, and I have done it multiple times over the past few years. The hike is simple with steps to guide you through. It is free and great for friends, families, pets and even the elderly.
In the end, the view is beautiful and peaceful.

Great local trail that ends with a stunning view of the inlet.
Mostly uphill so be prepared to sweat- but always worth the effort - have done this hike a couple times and I’m always blown away by the beauty of the area.

Short hike with some steep parts, but the views are worth the effort, especially in the evening summer sun.

Easy hike that has views stairs and rivers. This trail is not short or long its the perfect length. Amazing view at the end you can see the hole deep cove even down defiantly worth the hike.

We travelled by bus to Deep Cove from central Vancouver, which was cheap and easy. Deep Cove is a beautiful spot midweek in February but gets completely overrun in the summer and at weekends.
A nice 2 hour walk is provided on the Baden Powell trail to Quarry Rock. The trail is steep in places but is mostly boardwalk. View from the rock are great back toward Vancouver. Its main issue is popularity and even mid-week in February there are lots of people on the trail and at the rock. Furthermore, the walkers are very mixed and some joggers and dog walkers will just push through, without much care for anyone else.
It is possible to extend the walk but signage isn't great for this.

Although very busy a nice hike through the woods with magnificent forest, running streams and at the end rewarded with an outstanding view up Indian Arm or towards Burnaby mountain.

Does this trail close at 7pm as listed on Google? I plan on arriving around 6-7pm to avoid crowds, will I be able to hike this trail still or will they close off the parking lot and the trail?
Skrevet 2. september 2019
you should plan to hike in daylight hours. Never hike in an unfamiliar trail at night. Easy to get off the trail and even though an urban trail it does cross through some steep banks a dense brush.

I hope to know the exactly address --GPS of parking for deep cove
Thank you for reply
Skrevet 30. mars 2019
The GPS coordinates are 49.328794,-122.950184 but you won't need them. Deep Cove is one road in one road out with one major parking spot. When you driving down the main road turn left after the first bunch of shops and the parking will be on the right. For the hike walk on the road after you parked and it will be on your left. Well marked.

Can u still hike after 7 or is there a gate that closes
Skrevet 27. juni 2018
To my knowledge there is no gate that closes but given the number of stairs you’d want to hike in good light.
Skrevet 28. juni 2018
Somebody mentioned parking is free on the weekend, how about weekdays? Does the trail have gate or opening hours? We are thinking about going early.
Skrevet 21. juni 2018
I’m not sure about free parking close by at any time. You can park on the road just before you enter deep cove proper for free parking bits about a 400m walk to start of the trail. There are new restrictions on the trail so going early is good as they will close the trail if too many people are on it. Enjoy.

How are the trails this year so far? Looking to go this coming weekend February 18th 2017!
Skrevet 14. februar 2017
We hiked the trail Dec 24 and 25, 2016, it was dry and a great hike. The rest of the Christmas week was wet and cold. I believe snow has stopped falling in Vancouver.
