The museum wasn't open but we still climbed the tower and had fun sightseeing the area.Beautiful view at the end of October, nice fall colours, trains and the water. Wish there was hand sanitizer or wipes near the tower as the handles going up were sticky and gross. Otherwise we were the only ones visiting the area at the time so no traffic and plenty of parking.

Although the Museum is closed due to COVID the park is still open. We ate a wonderful picnic lunch there surrounded by the beautiful park and peace and quiet. Would recommend a visit. Not sure if the tower was open however.

A bit smaller that I expected, but the view from the tower was spectacular. Just sitting in the garden and taking in all the smells and sounds was so worth it.

We visited the gardens and tower in July. (The museum was temporarily closed)
There was a pleasant breeze while climbing the tower. Take water. There is a bench halfway up to rest. Great panoramic view from the top.
The gardens were lovely. Nice spot for a picnic.
I wish there had been more information on the cabin, I assume was the rangers home.
There is a small parking lot across the street. Not enough space for a large camper or trailer.

As part of our White Squall Girls Getaway we visited tower hill. The museum wasn’t open at the time but the view from the tower was worth the hike up the hill. Never having been to the area, my friends were awed by the birds eye view of nature’s beauty. The gardens were just beginning to blossom, the labour spend on these gardens was obvious. I will return each visit to the area to see the changes as the seasons change.

While this museum is cute and decent, it was built in 1993 and never updated. The history of the Parry Sound area is nothing to shake a stick at- let alone an entire room on the history of logging in the area. There is no comprehensive Indigenous representation for the history of the district, apart from a small add-on that desperately needs revision. To say this mid-tier diorama perpetuates a colonial narrative is an understatement. On a Sunday in March, we were the only 2 people at the site for the entirety of our 45 minute visit. The special exhibit is currently on (for months) about lost stories of community fishing and ice storage in the 1800s... a potentially not terribly premise, but the delivery is meh. The texts were not written to a high standard and could have benefited from revision and formatting improvements. The exhibit artifacts themselves were a bit confusing- an old jacket, a generic boat, and taxidermy fish mounted on the wall were all set against a slideshow of “old looking photos” with a soundtrack of Pachbells Canon (the wedding march). I love local museums and am always excited to learn about niche histories, however a few updates and some more thoughtful community engagement would go a long way. Overall, I didn’t learn much, but it was a totally adequate time.

The viewing tower is open twenty-four hours a day and is free of charge. Covered with rails and fence, it is safe and nice to view the city from the top of the tower.

Perfect spot to stretch your legs & enjoy the climb up the lookout tower -- beautiful view of the bay.
Check out the museum with their changing displays of great historical interest & take a walk around the well manicured grounds.
Worth checking out even have picnic tables to enjoy your lunch in the summer.

Stopped in Parry Sound with family on route from Sudbury to Toronto to stretch our legs and grab a bite to eat (had an awesome meal at Maurizios - see my review there). The kids enjoyed the walk up to the top of the tower and the view. Definitely worth a quick stop.
