This gallery is a little gem. I really liked the Paul Kane Room which features work from their permanent collection. The gallery shop has some lovely things made by local artists and craftspeople. I popped in my way to Prince Edward County. It's small so it's a great break that won't take you too far off your beaten track. The gallery was free but suggests a donation.

Had a great time looking at Dimitri Papatheidorou's Wall Gazing exibit. Thats what my photo is from! They have friendly staff, knowledgeable guides, and even a shop!
Finding the lift is a bit hard: you can bately see it at the base of the stairs but it goes right up into the shop.
The small Paul Kane gallery currently highlights women's art and I hope they keep that up at least until after International Women's day!
I highly recommend going and I left a few dollars donation too.

It's nice to have a local gallery that showcases local talent and themes. It's a very beautiful gallery in Victoria Hall. So much history in that building - it makes it the perfect place for the gallery.

The Art Gallery of Northumberland (AGN) located in Victoria Hall, West Wing, Third Floor is a gallery that showcases a variety of artwork. The AGN is a treasure in the heart of downtown Cobourg. As it is located in the beautiful Victoria Hall it allows for an opportunity to spend time in this historic building. The changing exhibitions the gallery always bring something new to this community space and often highlight the work of local and internationally acclaimed artists. As well the AGN's permanent collection holds many renowned pieces I was both surprised and excited to see; including Robert Motherwell and Octavio Paz Suite that was displayed this summer. The space is cozy and allows for a place to truly reflect on the artwork and interact with members of the community. Also AGN has a fantastic family space C3 that is welcoming and fun for both kids and adults. The volunteers and staff at the AGN make the space inviting and the ongoing events are a must attend!

Is a place for local talents. For example there was Fraces Gace with some nice sculptures and some sketching and poetry together when we went.

Was here with a friend to tour the great town hall. 3 story granite block structure built in the early 1800's. Huge big Court house room, quite likely had many court cases there. Main floor is still used as the municipal offices, Nice clean washrooms all open to the public, elevator to all 3 floors. Lots of history to been seen here

This gallery holds a large collection of both locally and nationally recognized artists, often providing a glimpse into Canadian culture, history, and landscape. I'm very impressed with the quality of their work and although small, their exhibits are well worth seeing. The gallery is located on the top floor at Victoria Hall -- a beautiful building itself. I've visited several exhibitions here, and all were free (although, I think they sometimes charge a fee for certain exhibitions). There is also a space for children and a gift shop near the entrance of the building.

I was delighted by the quality of the exhibit. Very talented local artists. From flowers and birds to a locomotive, a collage of buildings, historical pieces and some abstract work as well. It is worth the trip and one could spend hours admiring the handiwork. I overheard a woman who had been before - she discovered something new she didn't remember seeing the first visit. There is also a gift shop with lovely chioces.

An awesome setting for a gallery. Contains a lot of good artwork and has often local displays for the artists in the community.
