A nice walk through the woods

We had a nice walk through these very pretty, preserved woods near Qualicum town center. All the paths are well marked.

Never mind Cathedral Grove - for huge trees in an intimate setting this is it! The walk takes about half an hour and you'll meet lots of friendly locals on the trail who walk there every day.

Very calming
aug. 2019
This forest is extremely nice to take a stroll through the well-marked trails, view the old growth Douglas Fir & generally enjoy a 30-45 min walk.

Very well kept and interesting, good walking paths through the forest no steep climbs so available to almost anyone.
Cool in the summer months, a peaceful area to walk in.

Extremely beautiful bringing back nature and old growth forests

A great place to walk with family or your family dog frequently. The incredible forest and trails invite weary travelors for a moment of rest and local residents to enjoy nature and others walking the many paths.

A hidden gem in Qualicum Beach!

We stumbled upon this trailhead while out riding out bikes. The simple sign announcing Heritage Forest doesn't give any clues about what you find when you walk along the well managed path. It was easy on our bikes but there were times we got off and walked because if the others on the path.
This area is beautiful and full of old growth trees. Nevermind heading to Cathedral Grove and the headaches of parking...just come here and you'll get almost the same viewing opportunities. Beautiful!

Beautiful and Serene

The amazing part of this forest is that it is surrounded by suburbia, and was planned to be developed into 110 home-sites. A neighbor on a walk discovered a piece of paper outlining the planned development and led an effort to raise money to purchase the land and protect it in perpetuity for many more generations to enjoy. There are several old growth trees, one that is 700-800 years old and several in the 400 year old range. Most is second growth having been logged around 1910. There are several trails that meander through the woods and allow your enjoyment of the peace of the surrounding nature.
