Lovely park with hard packed trails meandering through woods, along creeks with fish (salmon will spawn in November), and through meadows. Includes places to enjoy breaks on benches or enjoying a picnic on solid picnic tables.

What luck for us. This large park is literally across 96 avenue from our neighbourhood. Walking trails, picnic areas, huge dog walking area, bike paths, a hatchery and a paved multi-use path on the east side of 168th street offer year long opportunities for use. A bike/walkway over Highway 1 at 168th street offers additional access to Fraser Heights as well. Truly a local gem.

Tynehead Regional Park is owned and maintained by Metro Vancouver.  The park is 260 hectares of meadow and forest on the banks of the Serpentine River headwaters in Guildford. There are 14.4 km of hiking trails andx6.3 km of cycling.
This park has a lot of wildlife, and is a habitat for owls, hawks and coyotes. The headwaters of the Serpentine River are spawning and rearing habitats for for your and salmon.
Trails meander through mixed forest and meadow and along the gentle Serpentine River. Gain new views of the park and its significant salmon (spawning and rearing) habitat from the viewpoints on Hatchery and Trillium Trails. Cyclists can enjoy the Tynehead Perimeter Trail.
The park is an ideal place for a family day out, with picnic tables, the Tynehead Fish Hatchery, and spectacular nature trails. Allow 40 minutes or more, depending on the trail you choose.
Within Tynehead Regional Park you will find a 2.5 hectare (6 acre) dog off-leash area, accessible from the 168 Street parking lot. Park hours: June 2 - Sept 7 Open: 7 am
Closed: 10 pm Sept 8 - 28 Open: 7 am
Closed: 8 pm.

Tynehead has so much to offer...whether it’s the huge off leash dog park (beware of coyotes)...or the beautiful trails thru the rest of the park. You’ll see lots of squirrels and the birds will feed from your hand! There are lovely picnic sites and even group camping. The stream host spawning salmon in the fall and you can go to the hatchery on site and watch them work with the salmon enhancement programs. I love this park so much...definitely one if my favs!

Great place to walk through the forest & explore the trees & streams. Also a great off leash dog area surrounded by fences! Lastly love the Fish Hatchery & being able to participate in the release of the frys into the stream in May.

We had a beautiful walk along the trails in this park. Very clean trails and friendly people. There are even leash optional areas which made our fur buddy beer happy.

My husband and I love finding parks with good trails and at least a geocache or two to find--Tynehead fits the bill perfectly. On a cool morning it's nice to walk the perimeter trail and then pick up a hot coffee at the Tim Hortons inside the Esso station. I'm so grateful that as Surrey has grown parks like these remain.

It is always a pleasure to take a leisurely walk in the early evening . It pathways are well covered with trees so you are safe from the sun and enjoy the cold breeze.
There are many walking tracks , one can choose depending on the distance you would like to walk , there quite stream that flows in the park , it is very relaxing sitting and hearing the water flow.

Gated dog park with dish + water, poop bags, trails and open areas for running free.
Some sightings of coyotes in area, so take proper caution. Even paths with some incline
