Beautiful walk, no traffic and so relaxing. You can walk at your own pace, amazing open views to the island and surroundings. Great coffee shops and restaurants in the vicinity.

The West Van Seawall is a well-maintained walk along the seaside that undulates through the villages of Ambleside and Dundarave. Hugging the northern shore of English Bay, it is never the same walk twice, and there is always something to see. It is enjoyable in any weather; just dress appropriately. My only complaint (and I am a long-time West Vancouver resident) is that dogs are not allowed; to my mind, this petulant bylaw must be reconsidered.

Always loved this walk. Not quite as great as it used to be because most of the tile art on the rocks has washed away, and the driftwood sea monster and stump chairs are gone as well. Also gets very busy so best to go early. The dog path is dtill there on the other side of the fence, what a cool feature!

On a sunny warm day, with a cool breeze, this is a great walk. Very flat, very peaceful, nice views of the water, plenty of spots to stop and sit or get a snack. I highly recommend.

This is a beautiful and easy stroll along the seawall. Expansive views of the Lionsgate Bridge, the west side of Vancouver.

Great place to stroll along the ocean. No bikes, scooters or dogs. There is a separate dog walk on the other side of the fence. It can get busy though.

Gorgeous and very active seawall. Lots of scenery! Do not attempt to ride bikes or anything on wheels, local elders frequent the walkway and are quite vocal about no bikes! No doge either, theres a small stretch where a dog path is designated via a fence by the trail, but not very long.

West Vancouver bans dogs almost everywhere on waterfront??
Stanley Park is open to leased dogs but not the West Vancouver’s Seawall!!
You can watch them at Ambleside dog spot but give up on a “good walk” as their owners!
The silly fence system for a few blocks demands you unleash your dog & shove it behind a mesh fence where she can walk uncontrolled, on a filthy poop filled path as no one can “pick-up” along railway tracks with constant openings for the dog to run onto the working railway tracks!!!
We so much miss chatting with seniors about our little dogs and healthy walks due to a minority that West Vancouver Councillors fear .. Kits was way better!!
We travel to other neighborhoods to walk our dogs with us as apposed to standing watching them at Ambleside!!

A favourite walk while visiting Vancouver, especially when leaving the snowy winter of Calgary. It's a nice flat walk, gentle for those with fragile hips. Views of the ocean, the ships, the birds and the people always make it interesting. Pleasant to walk either in the sun or in the fog.

This is a great place to walk any time of the year and really great on a sunny day. A bit crowded at times especially on the weekends and on those beautiful days. The city has tried to insure social distancing during the pandemic and the measures listed on the signs seem to work fairly well.
