Snow mountains, holy lakes, blue sky,
wilderness, tranquil villages, endless flower sea,
as well as those little wood houses, yaks and sheep in the fence,
the enthusiastic Tibetan villagers returning from the fields,
the curling smoke in the valley at dusk...
It makes people feel relaxed and happy.
Admission fee: 80RMB/person
Accommodation: There are many inns and homestays in the village
Best travel season: July to October
Transportation: Take a bus from Lanzhou/Xiahe/Hezuo to Diepu County, then charter a vehicle to get there, no direct shuttle bus.
Nearby attractions: Langmusi Monastery, Zoege Prairie, Hua Lake, Jiuqu Huanghe First Bay, Labrang Monastery, Sangke Prairie, Gannan Wonderland, etc.
A suitable itinerary:

Outfit tips: Sunglasses, sun hat, light-colored T-shirts or skirts are easy to photograph, bring a thin jacket as it’s cold in the early morning and evening. Canvas shoes and sneakers are the best!
Moisturize and apply sunscreen. The highland climate is dry so you must moisturize well. The ultraviolet rays are strong so you must bring sunscreen sprays, etc.!
Regarding altitude sickness, the altitude is relatively low along the way, around 2 to 3 thousand meters. Most people will not have altitude sickness. If you are worried, take Hongjingtian 10-14 days in advance. Prepare 2-3 tanks of oxygen in advance. Bring some chocolates, glucose oral solution, which can quickly recover your energy. Glucose oral solution has a magical effect on relieving altitude sickness!

Zhagana is becoming a very popular tourist destination. We traveled to Zhagana in March and by the time we left we drove towards Chone(Zhouni) on the Rock road (洛克之路）. On the mountain pass of 4000 meter high we got stuck in the snow. A very memorable experience.

Hiking Tips (to escape the crowds!!):
From the parking lot at the bottom of town, take the tourist bus (20 Yuan) to the end past Yi Xian Tian 一线天 , and start your hike from there. That way you escape most of the tourists and don't have to fight the tourist buses. From the last stop of the bus, hike up the valley. After about 10 min, a road splits off to the right and this is the road that the horses take up, but you can continue straight ahead. This path is very steep and meets up with the road the horses take after about an hour slow hiking. After another 30 minutes, we reached the small temple. Then after another 45 minutes we reached the small waterfall. It doesn't look like much from the road, but was really nice up close. If we hadn't spent an hour plus, fighting the tourist buses as we hiked up the road at the beginning, we could have kept going further. From the map on the ticket it looks like this is a loop. Someone online wrote that they did a 16-mile loop that took 10 hours for fast hikers. We guessed that we were doing part of the western-side of this loop.
Another nice hike is from the road that heads out to the west of town. You can see a bunch of prayer flags going up a valley. I only had 20 minutes but the cement path on the left-side entering into the valley was easy and beautiful. This first part would be nice for those who wanted a shorter, easier hike. But this path keeps going a long ways into the valley and changes from a cement path to a steep, rock and dirt path. From the pictures on the tourist signs, it looks like you can make a loop and you can see the steep path on the right when you enter the valley. I'd love to have more time to try this loop another time.
The third hike we did was to Joseph Lock Lookout (Luo Ke Guan Jing Tai 洛克观景台). From town you can hike straight down to the river. Some of these boardwalks are still in the process of being connected. Toward the west side of town down by the river there is a small "dam" where you can cross the river. After you cross the river, turn right. Follow the boardwalk till it ends, then the dirt road until it connects to the concrete stairs going up the mountain. This hike took about an hour from town to the lookout up the mountain on the opposite side from the town.

An incredible experience in a mountain village. A night in a tibetan family who cooked and offered us a perfect meal. A lot of hikes around the village. Go there rapidly before mass toutism arrived

This place is still not very touristy, entrance fee still very cheap, not like other famous tourist attractions in China. Best homestay experience at calm and quiet village, homestay served authentic Tibetan home cooked dishes.
Noticed some construction projects going on there, they are developing this place to a commercial tourist attraction soon.

The big trail loop makes a fantastic day hike. The whole loop is about 16 miles. You go from 2800m to 3800m altitude and down. The descent is steep--either loose stones or muddy horse trail, have to cross streams often. Carry a walking stick! The whole loop took me about 10 hours with frequent stops for taking pictures.

景点里的藏寨风景很独特，顺着盘山公路继续走的风景就更不寻常了，犹如人间仙境一般。白蓝天，白云，雪山，草原，藏寨相映衬，犹如一幅山水画。再往前走，会到一个峡谷，是一个古冰川遗址，有各种各样的山峰，奇石。顺着公路继续前行，最高可以到达海拔四千多米的山顶，白云看起来触手可及，但有些冷，需多备衣物御寒。公路上绝大部分地区都没有信号。公路可以到达卓尼、临潭，全程大约4个多小时，值得一去。

在郎木寺去扎尕那的路上，有人说扎尕那不值得一去！但是这个值不值得只有自己去了才能体验到！！！去扎尕那比较辛苦，要先坐班车去到迭部县，然后从县城包车进去景区。其实建议提前联系老板，让老板联系包车师傅，这样或许车费会便宜一些（价格是50一车，多人的话平均下来只要10块一人就可以进去景区了）。里面的住宿都是臧家乐，当地藏民开的。现在无论是东哇村，还是业日村、达日村，都在修建一些新酒店，所以有预感到不久的将来，这里将成为商业浓重之地。扎尕那很适合徒步，可惜一个人的我不太敢走（一般穿越需要3天）。业日村和东哇村、达日村都有观景台，建议大家一定都要走去看看，走上去视野会超级开阔，体验到不一样的美景！东哇村上还有个拉桑寺院，建议也走上去看看，能俯瞰整个东哇村。另外，高原地区气候多变，建议要带上伞~（悲剧的我，连续被淋湿两天）最后，如果有时间的话，一定要多停留几天，这里可玩的地方可多了，有机会的话还会遇到可爱的野生梅花鹿！对了，这里也有峡谷，可惜我遇到雨天没有走进去~

Die Anfahrt ist etwas schwierig, wir sind ohne Erwartungen hergekommen und wurden nett und freundlich bei einer Familie aufgenommen. Es gibt mittlerweile einige Unterkünfte, da der Tourismus ständig wächst. Die Ausstattung ist der ländlichen Regionen angepasst. Die Gegend ist wunderschön. Festes Schuhwerk und regenfeste Kleidung ist zu empfehlen, da es gerade nach Sonnenuntergang sehr kühl wird.
