Yesterday we went on the deer rut tour coordinated by Will, Dan & Oli - From the start and booking all really helpful, absolutely fantastic experience, Oli was very knowledgeable and answered lots of varied questions and the tour itself was great fun and I would highly recommend 😊 we went back to the Woburn Hotel where we had venison sausage rolls and chips which were lovely! The guys spent slots of time after talking to everyone and answering more questions, a great evening with lovely people! Think they should extend to year round as getting close to the deer was amazing with or without the rut!

You should start to take notice of the pattern reviews!
I think its important to set the scene, we are a very respecrful family, love the outdoors, members of English heritage and national trust, we have well behaved children who walk, not run around screaming and shouting.
Today we were walking through the park, sunshine and fresh air and a stunning open space, only to be disturbed by a rude ranger who has driven across the estate in a truck to ask us to stay on the paths, to say overkill and condesending is an understatement, thier was absolutely no need what so ever, we were not off of the path! Which by the way have no obvious boundaries or size indicated, We were outside of all posted signs that indicate restricted acess or private land and the staff had ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT TO APPROACH US. 4 quiet people walking or a truck driving accross the estate to be rude! Proportionate? No. You have got the wrong approach here.
Your staff are representatives of the esate and thier actions and behaviours should reflect this. I am 100% certain that the actions and manner in which we were approached would not be supported in any capacity by the estate owners or managers.
The only thing that disturbed the estate, environment and atmosphere today was your untrained staff and vehicles.
Please dont put the same copy and paste response to this nature of complaint saying its busy and high volumes of people etc etc, you should be over the moon its busy, busy does not mean your staff need to over react and be rude, it means they have a great opportunity to park up, get out engage with the public, welcome them, say good morning. Your staff need training, they are letting the estate and the Duke and Duchess of Bedford down badly.

Walked through the grounds on a sunny autumnal day - beautiful! The herds of deer are so majestic and the estate is extremely well kept.

Woburn Abbey is a beautiful place, the walk is stunning and the deer are lovely. However... The park ranger (security) had been rude on reminding us to stick to the path, ( only cutting a corner) which was not needed. A polite reminder would of done fine, but the man's attitude was appalling.

Your park ranger is very rude in telling people where they can and can’t walk in such a rude way, and why are you doing this in the middle of a pandemic? Surely having everybody walking the same exact way is worse than people going where the hell they want to go! Not coming back for a while got very annoyed at your jobsworth park ranger and the extremely petty stick to a path rule absolutely pathetic get it sorted. He was so petty he Even looked through his binoculars to look for the next person to tell off.

We visited today and had a terrible experience with a Park Ranger. There were 3 of us (2 adults and one child), walking in the the Deer Park. We had been keeping to the footpath as our son has Autism and we have to follow rules (he will not have it any other way!) When we reached the roadway the footpath signs disappeared so we walked on the verge, quite close to the metal fencing but not next to it. All of a sudden an extremely loud, rude Park Ranger drive up to us as started to shout through his window at us to 'get back on the footpath' (unsignposted at that point) and 'can't you read.... Don't go near the fence.....'. After this the Ranger sat in his Land rover Defender watching us, revving his engine then following to check we were doing what he had noisily said.
Our son is Autistic and cannot cope with shouting....not only because of the noise but also because there was no signage of a footpath there so we had 'not broken the rules' it was totally unjustified and adults should never shout at other people's children. Then 1) ask us if we can read - what an absolutely disgusting thing to say to visitors and 2) to rev an engine and follow us .....this led to a meltdown on my son's part as he got scared thinking we were going to get run over, meaning we had to swiftly get back to the car and leave.
What sort of person treats visitors like this? We had actually visited Woburn to check what it would be like (suitability-wise) to return to the Safari Park but WE SHALL NEVER BE BACK as your staff are extremely rude. You cannot treat people like this -shouting, following, revving engines, asking if people can (or can't read) - it is totally unacceptable. The Ranger in question obviously doesn't have a child/relative with Additional Needs he needs to realise that courtesy and manners go along way and you don't have to abuse visitors to get your point across.......oh yes and I do hope he is able to read after accusing us of not being able to.

I am really sorry to hear about your experience, I can assure you we will look into this matter. We have had an unprecedented number of visitors to the Deer Park in recent months and it has been a challenge to ensure the safety of walkers and the wild animals that live in the Park. I do hope that you will consider visiting us again especially now that Woburn Safari Park is now open.

Absolutely beautiful place to spend a few hours but the rangers need some retraining. The poorly signposted paths are not very wide and people were attempting to social distance as best as they could, in the current climate having rangers drive at you from their little spot on the top of the hill to tell people off like they're naughty children because they strayed slightly from the path is ridiculous. It's just comes across as rude and unwelcoming.

I am sorry to hear about your experience, we will certainly take your feedback on board. We have had an unprecedented number of visitors to the Deer Park in recent months and it has been a challenge to ensure the safety of walkers and the wild animals that live in the Park. The footpaths through the Park are public rights of way and therefore we are unable to alter them in anyway.

Although they tried to make it child friendly and the staff in the house were friendly to our children (6 and 11) it really isn't a place to unwind with children in tow. Our two ran round the gardens and looked round the house (pretending to look for secret passages) but the children's quiz they had for the house and garden didn't quite work and engage (felt it was designed by an adult without children) so it meant my husband and I didn't enjoy it as much as we could have done because we were on tenderhooks the whole time. Like I said it's not that they haven't tried they have, but I would advise this is a place for adults only at the moment. The house is beautiful and the gardens are nicely landscaped.

The sculpture gallery Sunday family Christmas lunch we went with the family it was wonderfull the tables were amazing all laid up for Christmas lunch every thing for the children on the table crayons coluring eye mask was great the lunch was very good we was on table 9 with a great waitress who was great with the children . Father Christmas came and read the children a story and gave them all a present was really nice .the one downfall the drinks were so expensive but all was verygood and will go next year.

The gardens were lovely to walk around and great atmosphere. The house took only 20 minutes to tour round and so it felt as if we hadn’t seen much. There were no tour guides for the whole Abbey when we went (perhaps there might be at other times) however there were scheduled talks available. The only information given about the rooms were in a booklet hidden on a windowsill or bench somewhere in the room. The Abbey was nice but we wanted more information either from the volunteers in the room or perhaps as a handset audio piece. An enjoyable trip, but the gardens overshadowed the Abbey by some way.

Are dogs on leads allowed in the park please?

Guide dogs have limited access around the grounds and building but should also be better with another accompanying adult.Dogs with any other persons must must strictly stay on leads and not allowed to run free in open spacer,especially not to frighten the deer or other wild life.Its better to leave dogs at home and enjoy the day out.

The house is well worth a visit if you are the least bit interested in culture.
There are about 30 Canaletto's , numerous other notable art works , helpful guides and a huge silver and gold vault

Hello - we are hoping to visit the abbey and gardens when we come up to Newport Pagnell later in September. Do we have to pre-book tickets or can we pay on the gate?

You can buy tickets at the entrance on arrival or you can purchase them online at least one hour in advance of your visit. Group visits (over 12 people) and afternoon tea must be pre-booked, this can be done by calling 01525 290333.
