Asked for a latte with oat milk only to be told that they couldn’t do that and ‘could I just have a normal coffee’ I told the woman that I’m allergic to dairy so she looked in the fridge behind her where there was clearly a range of dairy free milk and told me that they had none. After I told her I had seen the milk she took it out the fridge and gave it to the boy making the coffee who was clearly new and hadn’t been trained and told him she didn’t know how to make the coffee with that milk. I’ve never had this experience in any small coffee shops before let alone a costa and people with allergies shouldn’t be made to feel like they are being awkward the woman was clearly not trained to work in the costa but she was very rude.

Well, I'm not sure there's tons to write about a train station, but I appreciated this one in Bristol, UK! I took a day trip from London.
Why?
Pretty outside.
Large, clean restrooms.
A super helpful Bristol tourism representative right as you excited the station, there with a helpful map of the city for day visitors and directions to the center city. That made my visit that much easier!
There are buses to the center city, but the walk is worth it...about 15-20 minutes into the center of town.

Ieri abbiamo raggiunto a piedi questa stazione per recarci a Bath, a soli undici minuti di treno da Bristol; c'erano scioperi in corso e il treno era l'unico mezzo per raggiungere Bath. Così ho avuto modo di vedere la stazione ferroviaria anche all'interno, essendoci sempre e solo passato davanti. E' un edificio ottocentesco in stile tudor, una stazione da vecchia Inghilterra, ma molto efficiente e bene organizzata con sale d'aspetto sui binari linde e pulitissime costellate di prese per attaccare telefonini e computer.

No problem at all with the Station staff but the Pumpkin Café is another thing. The area in and around wasn’t very clean and the welcome by the server was dire. To top it all the coffee was as weak as dishwater. Won’t be using it again for any reason.

The Pumpkin Cafe was pretty grim. Dirty tables but staff didn't seem to care -they were just glued to their phones. A customer had to point out to them that the tables needed clearing before anything happened.

Like many things nowadays, BTM can feel confusing to the uninitiated. Arriving by the Station approach road gives one the full flavour of Brunel's Cathedral, or Temple to rail. The long elegant building arm and canopies are rightly grade 1 listed and there are authentic looking benches and a statue to the man himself outside too. But right now that's it, The insides are wasted space , with limited access. Who has rights to what, and how they use it are a bit unclear from my brief Google, but it loos like badly needed further regeneration is on it's way.
As things stand there is nothing this side of the (rather narrow) gate line other than a ticket office and a Costa, certainly nowhere to sit and wait in the warm and dry. Fortunately on the day I was there, departure platforms were indicated well in advance and only one was changed. This meant I was able to find, more by luck than judgment, the wonderful waiting room that is on the island of Platforms 13 and 15 (BTW there is no platform 14, a legacy of adding a signal box in the BR days) This room has panels,a feature fireplace and seats way more comfy that the GWR trains its serves. It also seems to be used as staff rest room between shifts!
Linking these highlights is an anonymous subway, with more retail and toilets, that is clean and efficient. The station could be so much more and with the right combination of time, enthusiasm and cash it can be. Here's hoping

A questa stazione ci sono affezionato.
Mi piace la sua "presenza scenica", sembra di tornare all'Ottocento, infatti è un edificio in perfetto "Tudor style", progettata da I K Brunel, uno dei piu' famosi ingegeneri dell'era vittoriana, e inaugurata nel 1840.
Mi piacciono i suoi mattoni, il suo sapore di antico, qualcosa che mi rimanda alla vecchia Inghilterra.
Dall'aeroporto si arriva qui in autobus e poi il centro citta' è vicino.
Da qui in treno, si va ...ovunque nel Regno Unito.
Ogni volta che torno a Bristol, io "devo" andare in questa stazione

Not the station but the Pumpkin cafe on platform 8 sold me tea with off milk which I only realised once on the train .

Anyone out there used the trains during the pandemic
I am going to Newbury via GWR services and not been as I have followed advise up to now and I am now going away and as public transport is my only option, not having a car and it is too far to cycle or walk (I can not stay at home forever)
Toilets - are they still open at main line stations BTM underneath the platforms - bearing in mind current social distancing
Toilets on trains - still operational?
There is no way I can wait 4 hours door to door with out the facilities with all the best will in the world
I will be wearing a face covering

The answer having been today and no one answered before and on 26th July is that the ones on the access to platforms are in use
The ones in trains are operational
Face coverings are mandatory (these are NOT chin warmers)

Sorry. Have been away and only just read your question. I am not sure because when we travelled we took a taxi both to and from the station. Ann L's answer, however, seems to provide all the appropriate information.
