Lovely place for a walk, alway quiet and wonderful views on a clear day. Nothing too hard so open to any fitness leave.

We had a lovely day out there walking the hills and exploring the outside. Parking was easy, different walks for all abilities and fun for all ages. Perfect for picnic
No toilets

You can see as far as south Wales from here including the Worlebury hill fort in Wsm which is also worth visiting. Peaceful place but quite a steep climb.

Always surprising how quiet this is despite being close to Bristol. We only saw a group of 3 people today. You can walk along the ramparts of the hill fort, with its wonderful views, then descend into the secluded wooded areas. There's a great feeling of timelessness and history too. Parking is usually easy.

Whatever the weather or season, this must be a wonderful walk. We did it in cold weather in December and it proved bracing. Lots of signs of rabbits. Iron age hill fort at the top. Views over to the two islands - Steep Holm and Flat Holm - off the Somerset coast. Bit muddy in places, so good footwear essential.

I'm always surprised by how many people I don't see on my forays to the top of the warren. There are numerous tracks and paths to explore. So if you need to walk the dog, tire the kids out, go for a strenuous jog or a relaxing walk it's worth the effort just for the view from the top.

There are many open-ended walks at Dolebury. If coming from Bristol, Start either by pulling off the A38 at the old miners cottages on the left; or if you miss that it is signposted again left just up the hill, head for the carpark at the Star, although funnily enough I think the sign is mark 'Rowberrow Warren' at this point. Anyways there are marked walkways or you can just walk as you like. Lovely in winter with low sun.

This offers a fantastic walk
With caveats

There are exhilarating views over Somerset from the top which is covered with the remains of an Iron Age hill fort ( and hence mystery)

A good range of common and not so common wild flowers ( mullein etc)

Peace and tranquility

And
You will need good walking boots and an ability to climb

Good pubs nearby to relax in afterwards

As you would expect, it is an ancient Rabbit Warren.. I have never seen any rabbits there, but I suspect they still are if you are quiet and very patient.
Parking is not easy but you will find a space if you are lucky and the climb is steep but worth it.

You can of course come the other way from Burrington Coombe, or even Cheddar. It is a long walk and as long as you have your map, you will get there. Just remember you have to get back though
