Common Dolphins on a lovely day

Another excellent wildlife trip with Keith and Laura with two small pods of Common Dolphin, a mother and calf Harbour Porpoise, Manx Shearwater, Storm Petrel, Puffins and Grey Seals sighted, on top of the usual seabird species. Additionally on the cliffs a family of Ravens and some kind of small bird of prey, possibly Peregrine Falcon.

Keith is a passionate and friendly naturalist, who offers great commentary on the trip and whilst the trip was on his smaller boat due to his catamaran having been damaged at the shipyard it was still comfortable for the full group aboard.

Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic cruise, and the highlight of our trip to Falmouth.

Captain Keith is clearly extremely passionate about ocean life and it was a real pleasure to have him share his knowledge and experience with us, not to mention his almost unnatural ability to spot a small splash or tip of a fin half a mile away!

We saw several seals while leaving the harbour, plenty of birds, and a couple of harbour porpoises, unfortunately disappearing into the distance, then towards the end of the trip we were joined by a large pod of dolphins swimming around the boat for about 20 minutes. Absolutely stunning, beautiful animals, and we're so happy we booked to have the chance to see them :)

Would highly recommend for anyone with an interest in sea life, and we're already thinking about our next trip and taking the kids :)

Boat cruise with wildlife expert

Thoroughly enjoyable 4 hour cruise with Captain Keith. He is very informative regarding all wildlife.
He was constantly on the lookout for birds & animals. We saw seals, several species of birds, porpoises and the highlight of the cruise: approx 20-25 bottlenose dolphins who spent several minutes saying hello and swimming alongside the boat!

A must do activity when visiting Falmouth!

Fabulous trip out with Captain Keith and guide Emma on Saturday 13th May 2023.
Common dolphins bow riding, a large group of harbour porpoise feeding, a great variety of seabirds. Keith has the eyes of a hawk, nothing gets past him, if there is wildlife around to be seen he will spot it! Also, so knowledgeable about the local area, giving wonderful information as we travelled along the coast, and information about the sea floor beneath us. I have been out on numerous trips with AK Wildlife Cruises over the past few years and it is always a brilliant experience. Recommend 100%.

Brilliant tour

Excellent day with incredibly knowledgable and enthusiastic guides. We had great weather and brilliant sittings of minke whales! As well as seals, guillemots, razorbills, puffins, gannets, cormorants, shags and loads more. We will have to come back to find a basking shark! Thanks for a great trip!

A fantastic wildlife trip

The trip was amazingly good. We had a dozen dolphins "playing" with the boat, enjoying jumping over the bow wave and swimming underneath. This was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The birdlife on the sea and on the cliffs was fantastic and the skipper pointed out the rare bridled guillemots. We also saw many seals on a very secluded beach with some of them swimming in the surf.
The enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of the skipper for nature was key because he could identify for us things we could not see well enough to identify for ourselves. He knew where to take us at what times to have a good chance of seeing the wildlife. The boat had comfortable seats and there were toilets at the marina and on the boat.

Sensational wildlife experience

Wonderful experience. We had the privilege of viewing a huge pod of dolphins with newborns leaping alongside mothers. A first for me was spotting a number of Risso's dolphins who treated us to a wonderful display. The whole journey was enhanced and enlivened by the enthusiasm of captain and crew. The real highlight of a fantasic break. Don't hesitate.

Fantastic marine wildlife trip

A fabulous day cruising down the east coast of the Lizard. All sorts of bird life but of course most on board were keen to see a cetacean of some sort. We weren’t disappointed with the area around the manacles showing 3 feeding groups of Harbour Porpoises. Fleeting and shy but wonderful to see. The captain provided knowledgeable commentary throughout. Then some splashes as giant bluefin Tuna emerged and then gone. Too late to the show on that occasion with oil slicks showing where a feeding frenzy had occurred. Four hours went incredibly quick. Sadly, no minke whales or dolphins but that’s nature and the acceptance that any trip like this should be enjoyed for what it is and any interesting wildlife is a wonderful bonus. Thoroughly recommended and we can’t wait to try out the new catamaran.

Would go again, best day ever, highlight of our holiday

At first it seems a little pricey, but after the trip we are already thinking about going again next year when they have their new Catamaran.
An amazing experience. We were all given good advice on what to look out for through our binoculars (take your own or hire a pair) and info about the local waters and animals. We saw gannets and gulls on the way out, then within an hour we were surrounded by bottlenose dolphins, including some very young calves. Captain Keith and Gabby made sure everyone knew where to look and that each person had a chance to stand on the front of the boat to see them right underneath you. They were so close it was unbelievable, we could hear them squeaking to each other.
Spent some decent time with several pods then left them to move on at their own pace so it didn't feel like we were bothering them. On return to shore we saw some porpoises and a seal having a nap.
The Captain really seems to care about the sea life which is lovely. The four of us had a brilliant day, we would definitely recommend!!
As always with this type of trip you are subject to the weather. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day with the calmest sea, we didn't need our waterproofs at all, so even if we hadn't seen any dolphins it would have been a lovely boat trip.

4 hour trip. Dolphins galore. Very lucky....several pods interacting with boat made it a great trip. Beautiful day & the sea was like glass. Perfect way to spend a day.
