We've heard of the deep a lot and been past it a lot to ! Thought we'd book to have a day out. Well very impressed such a good aquarium even the lifts have you surrounding the fish. Its a must go if you have not.

We went on a Friday at 1pm as a couple with no children. It was very busy and filled with children (as to be expected) so would recommend going at a different time to avoid this rush. However, it was an amazing place and loved every second! We booked online and with that pass came an annual pass which is good!

We have visited the Deep twice in a week with our young grandson. It is an excellent place to visit and your ticket allows repeat visits.
However the second day we went the car park was full as it was half term, staff were on duty to advise on other car parks to use which was good.
On going to the nearby Fruitmarket car park we found the barriers down so no access to the upper floors just the already full ground floor one. There weren't any signs explaining why this was the case. We then tried the pay and display which was also close by. This had 50% of the available ground cordoned off, all it contained was a cherry picker not in use. We were not able to park there either no reasons given, no signage or advice on where else to park. My complaint is with the Hull City Council who apparently had done all this car park closing for a film crew. The film crew should have been told to stay away during half term week. We then tried to access the Deep from Wellington Street. We met barriers at the end of Wellington Street. A guy working nearby told it was deemed that the decking in the area of the riverside was slippery. It wasn't it was perfectly dry. We then had to detour around all the crowd control barriers at every access point until we finally got across the river and to the Deep. The City Council need to make easy for people to visit the city it was a very frustrating experience trying to enjoy ourselves.

Took grandson, who is possibly a little young to appreciate it all, but he did enjoy most of the fish,
the whole place was lovely and clean.
do have one little comment, I did find the nappy change tables are very high...

Overpriced for what it is and sadly not enjoyable due to too many people being crammed in at once.
Wouldn’t recommend visiting on a weekend as it’s just too busy and the facilities are too small to allow you to enjoy the full experience.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback.
We can get very busy especially on weekends and around the school holidays and the Deep tends to be busier when it is raining. For a quieter experience we recommend visitors arrive at The Deep at 10am when we open or after 2pm to avoid the crowds. On average our visitors spend between 1.5-2 hours at The Deep so as we do not close until 6pm, there is plenty of time to enjoy the attraction in the afternoon.
We hope you can make use of your Annual Pass and visit again for free within the next 12 months, at a quieter time.

Visited 23rd jan 2023, very disappointed, far too expensive for what it is, car park also expensive, considering the entrance fee, food in overcrowded cafe not very warm also expensive, don’t want a yearly pass when it’s not close to home, no choice given.

As we are a charity, The Deep receives no external funding or subsidies & is 100% reliant on admission income and donations to pay for the running costs of the exhibition, its animals, conservation projects, education and community outreach.
The annual pass which includes the free returns for a year is our way of saying thank you to all of our visitors.
We try to keep all of our prices as low as possible both in the attraction and café, however with the rising costs of energy, products and supplies we have to take this into account so we do not make a loss.
The carpark costs are imposed on us from our local council and therefore is not something we can control.
It's disappointing to hear that you did not enjoy your visit as we do try our best to be an attraction that appeals to all.

When we went we had to pre book a time for going in but there was no limits on how long you could remain inside

How easy is it to get to, once you arrive in Hull? Are there lots of confusing inner city junctions to navigate? Very nervous country bum-kin asking, that avoids city centres at all costs where possible. If I do visit, I would be driving from that there Lancashire.

Only guide and hearing dogs are allowed inside I believe. There are lots of small children running about in the murk so even a friendly Labrador would probably cause all manner of destruction!

Around one and a half to two hours should be plenty. There are demonstrations at some points informing you of the different sea life. This does not include the time we spent in the Cafe! P.s. There is an area set aside for you to eat your own food. Enjoy your trip.
