Beautiful views at the tarn across the water but tiring to get up, the waterfall near the top was a joy to see.

Worth the climb at the top tarn stunning. Walk anti clockwise it's slightly easier. Also a flask and pack lunch as lots of places to sit at the top.

This is always a delightful walk. It was quiet on Saturday as it was snwing at the top. Recommend the circular route rather then the same return journey

Stunning views as you head for the tarn, taking in the waterfall as you go. You can park in Grasmere village and take the pathway up to the tarn just opposite the Heaton Cooper Art Studio. Plenty of places in the village for refreshment after your walk. You can cross over the stepping stones at the top to return down a different path - we couldn't as the water levels were too high

This walk is a hard climb, but beautiful and waterfall on route also a lovely lake to brew from the top, unfortunately the mist hampered the view

A short uphill walk will lead you to this breathtaking tarn. Try and go when its a bit quieter - so atmospheric

We walked up to Easedale Tarn on a beautiful August day. There are quite a few steps to climb and it’s quite hard in places if like me you aren't an avid climber. Once we reached the top people were swimming and enjoying picnics which I would recommend anyone to do - it’s a fantastic sight to see and a hidden gem.

The walk on a hot day feels relentless but I imagine it’s much easier when it’s not 28 degree full sun. Worth it to get to the tarn and cool off though. Stunning views all around. Paths are good. Stony/Rocky but good.

Beautiful walk from Grasmere village up to tarn for a swim. Head down lane towards Allen bank, all quite easy to follow the route (found on google search or follow OS map). The walk up took approx 1.5hrs, mainly cobbles/rock paths so stout footwear highly recommended. Spraining an ankle on the walk would be disastrous. You have to stop frequently to admire the view as the rest of the time you are watching your feet! There are steep sections but doable if you are fairly fit. You walk alongside the beck for quite a while but it was very low water. A couple of “paddling pools” near the top section. The tarn is absolutely stunning, we were the only ones there for a while, the water was warm and after the climb, the swim was heavenly. It was quicker going back down, we retraced our steps but you can return down a slightly different way. A bit more precarious on way down as again, watch where you put your feet, some stones are lose and you can slip a little. We took the dogs and they have to stay on the lead due to signs and sheep, so that is either a blessing as they “pull” you up, or a nuisance as they tug you down. We left at 7am and recommend an early start if hot. Very little shade once you start climbing. A late breakfast at the Old Bakery was a perfect ending.

I know lots of people do not like winter, but booking a holiday in winter would be cheap and also breathtaking... I have taken some photos in February.
