This is a lovely facility with a great bunch of staff. We saw some changes afoot when we visited the cinema last week; we enjoyed the film but later discovered a 'booking fee' had been added to our cinema ticket price, even though we were walk-in customers (so unsure how that is justified?). Furthermore they have engaged a private firm to take over management of their carpark and given a 3 hour limit, beyond which you will be hit with a huge fine. Cameras to read number plates are installed and the responsibility is placed squarely on you alone to remember to input your car registration indoors if you plan to stay longer (the film we watched was over 3hrs long). The outside signs tell you not to approach Rheged if you get a ticket, so you can already anticipate the upset coming for some unfortunates. It is a real shame they've done this because everybody knows what these parking companies are like. Finally they are now allowing dogs inside and already we saw some dog owners fetching in several dogs each. Oh dear, it was so much nicer without them.

Stopped to use facilities and as usual wowed by the whole experience, lovely shops, ambience, deli and gorgeous food in the cafe. Judith in particular took time to help us to choose from the menu and was attentive and helpful. A great place to stop and take time to browse, eat or even catch a film!

Popped in on way back from a wee break in Cheshire for a light lunch and coffee. Order taken by Friendly and courteous staff and didn't have to wait too long for our freshly cooked meal which was brought to our table. Would've been 5 star review but disabled toilet was very tight for maneuvering a wheelchair

Nice space but cafe system terrible. Just wanted a coffee and a cake but they don't serve it to you at the counter. You go and sit down and they bring it to you. Unfortunately that means you have to wait 10-15 minutes - not ideal.
Shop and and gallery nice though and kids play are looked well designed with it own adult seating and mini cafe.

We popped here after attending Potfest 2023. The centre is so cool, tucked away and concealed underground.
Had a lovely meal at the café and had a bit of an explore. It only has a couple of shops, an art gallery and a cinema. Nice place to relax and take a break.
If it were up to me I would have more shops and forego the (slightly pretentious) gallery/cinema (all kids films as it was half-term) but it's a nice venue.

We called on the way home from a short break in Bassenthwaite with 7yr old Grandson.
Breakfast stop he saw Pizza on menu so happy boy once ordered he watched it being made very chatty assistant. Adults breakfasts where very nice sausage bap & bacon bun very fresh & tasty. Pleasant friendly staff. Lots of different things to view.

Whilst there are numerous positives about The Rheged Centre we were very disappointed to encounter no means for visitors to recycle their packaging after purchasing from The Deli. An extensive array of drinks in glass bottles and aluminium cans to buy but no means to separate these receptacles for recycling. These materials are prime for recycling - food on the go needs to be more sustainable - recycling provision is a key part of that. Visitors, particularly on their way to the enjoy the outdoor natural joys that the Lake District offer, want to look after that environment and do the right thing. I’d suggest introducing recycling provision for glass and cans - easily separable and understood by visitors. I hope you do. In the meantime we will take our glass bottles home for the bottle bank.

Lunch at Rheged and a wander on a wet day. Advised by a lovely shop assistant to look into the gallery as free entry for this current exhibition.
Wow! Absolutely Stunning!!
It is a Libby Edmondson exhibition, truly wonderful. On a miserable day it was so lovely walking around. Will definitely come back and make a purchase!

We went to see the latest Hercule Poirot film on Saturday and the whole experience was rubbish frankly.
We bought our tickets at reception, but there was no-one at the entrance to the cinema to either direct us or check our tickets.
The cinema was freezing cold, the show was supposed to start at 6.45, but there were no trailers or intro at all, and we started to wonder if we were in the correct screening room.. A staff member wandered in at approx 7pm to start the show, and made no apology at all.
The audio from the film was terrible, and the background noise from what sounded like the kitchen was interfering with the enjoyment of the film. When the film finished, there were no staff in sight, they didn't put the house lights up, and it very much felt like we were an inconvenience.
Very poor customer service. We could have gone to the cinema in Carlisle which would have been closer, but want to support smaller local business instead of a large national chain, but next time I think it will be VUE that get our business.

YES! They even have a dog cafe! An area set aside with dog bowls and beds with regular tables and chairs that you can eat there. It’s just on the right as you come through the entrance . Menus are on the tables.

I kindly advise you that the X4/X5 leaves Keswick bus station and drops you in the car park bus stop near gate.
Coming back you board at the same bus stop for the X5/X4 going back towards Keswick or Penrith

Hi, We are visiting in June and was wondering typical cost of excursions such as deep sea fishing, whale watching etc.Are these trips recommended this timein June and Is it best to prebook these through the hotel?

In my experience, June is not the best time for whale watching on the M6. December is better
