No visit to Liverpool is complete without a visit to this place.
Just round the corner from the Strand Street Travelodge and over the road from the rail station.
First night had the Katso chicken which was really nice and I had a portion of chips, which were the best I’d had in ages, hubby had fish and chips. He was impressed.
Returned on our last morning for breakfast. Really good. Staff efficient and friendly.
Thank you

One of the most historic streets in Liverpool is James Street, this street brings you down to the River Mersey waterfront .
The street is a mix of old and new architecture, during World War Two and the May Blitz of 1941 this street and area was devastated by arial bombing which accounts for the various architectural styles ,along this street are some famous sites such as Queen Victoria Monument, Law Counts ,One Derby Square Building plus thers some great pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants, James Street Railway Station brings you up into the heart of this street that's most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

A street I always look forward to visiting on any trip to Liverpool City Centre I take is James Street.
Dominated by James Street Railway Station, this street is home to the famous Queen Victoria Monument, the buildings along this street are really pleasant on the eye, mostly Victorian era buildings ,there's great pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants and the street brings you onto the waterfront, all in all a great street to seek out if you're planning a holiday or trip to Liverpool.

James Street is one of the most historic streets in Liverpool and also one of its most vibrant.
Starting at roughly The Queen Victoria Monument and running down to the bustling Pier Head you can see the history in the buildings that line this street with many former bank buildings to view ,this area sustained heavy bombing during the Second World War and James Street certainly took damage ,the more modern buildings you can view between the Victorian era buildings replaced the ones damaged.
Besides the great architecture there's plenty of great pubs along and near James Street , The Captain Alexandra Pub,The Liverpool Pub and The Old Bank are just three great pubs I love to drop into on James Street ,it's most certainly a street I highly recommend you seek out if your planning to visit ,easy to locate either by foot or by train as this street has it's own railway Station namely James Street Railway Station.

Great hotel near James Street Station . Located near the Pier Head and Albert Dock
We stayed here to celebrate our daughter and son in laws wedding. It was a fabulous weekend.
The staff are second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. What a demanding job they have and they do it with pride.
The hotel itself needs an upgrade. It has gone through a troubled year though with covid and going into administration.
The suites are very spacious if you are there with a group.
For me the atmosphere was fabulous and the staff were too

Although at the moment James Street is a bit depressing to visit with the devastation the pandemic has wrought but with Prime Minister Boris laying out the roadmap out of the pandemic with pubs being allowed to reopen on the 12th of April with outside service only and from the 17th of May inside and service only and from the 21st of June back to some semblance of normality things should start livening up a bit now.
This wonderful street runs roughly from the beautiful Queen Victoria Monument to the Pier Head, lots of wonderful architecture, so many former bank buildings with many converted into pubs, bars and restaurants, I love nothing better than strolling down James Street admiring the architectural and dropping into pubs such as All Bar One ,The Captain Alexander Pub,The Liverpool Pub ,The Old Bank Pub and soaking up the special buzz and vibe of this street ,the street is well placed ,couple of minutes from the wonderful Pier Head and you're in the heart of the city ,its a wonderful street to visit and easily found, exit James Street Railway Station and your there ,well worth checking out if you're in the area and when the 3rd and final lockdown is lifted.

If you're thinking of visiting Liverpool a great starting point is James Street, a busy and popular street in the heart of the city.
From the fantastic Queen Victoria Monument and running down to the Pier Head and waterfront, its a street that has some of Liverpool's finest structures along .
In my opinion One Derby Square is one of the most beautiful buildings in Liverpool, this is found just off James Street, you also have the Queen Victoria Monument, Law Courts and all manner of former bank buildings that make James Street a very pleasant walk ,some of the pubs, bars and restaurants along James Street are superb,All Bar One ,The Captain Alexander Pub, The Liverpool Pub The Old Bank Pub are just some of the great places to enjoy a meal or drink along this popular street, if you jump the train down to James Street Railway Station you exit into the middle of James Street and some of Liverpool finest tourist sites are only a few minutes walk away especially the Pier Head and Albert Dock complex, its a wonderful Street and most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning to visit Liverpool.
