The farm is hidden away in the park but I had been given clear instructions on how to get there. The farm was ok, lots of animals for the kids to feed. My reason for dropping to three stars - the cost for a small child regardless of age is £5.00 and they do want the tubs to feed the animals which is an additional £2. It’s ok if you only go now and then but it will be an expensive trip if there are a few of you.
The main reason for the drop in stars is the hand washing facilities. I live in an area where a number of children became seriously unwell follow a trip to our local farm and this was long before covid. As we all know, animals can spread a lot of germs that can be really harmful to smaller children. When I tried to get my granddaughter (5) to wash her hands after feeding the animals there was a serious lack is soap - none at all. I was more than a little surprised especially in the hand washing section which to be fair was pretty grubby and not somewhere you would want to linger! When I told a member of staff about the lack of soap, she smiled and told me to use the toilets as there was probably some soap there.
Come folks get with the best and provide good, clean hand washing stations - you charge enough to provide soap.

My husband and I recently visited for a little morning walk, we were really enjoying ourself until we were walking around the walled garden area.
There was an area with greenhouses and the signs said to enter, there was a small wooden block with some information about the plants on to get into that section, unfortunately all the greenhouses were locked so I made my way back out, a security guard came running up to me and said that he had caught me on CCTV and that it was clear that I wasn't allowed in there, I said that I saw no signed to suggest it was off limits and he said he there was a barrier there for a reason and started shouting at me. I would like to explain that I am autistic and this situation really upset me and ruined the rest of our visit, I later had a panic attack due to this incident and I am still unsure what I did to be shouted at. This was such a horrible experience and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Plenty of open space. Nice to see so many families enjoying the nice weather. Having picnics. And all free.

Visited Croxeth Country Park 3/8/22. Looked around the walled garden. Wow!! what a beautiful hidden gem and highly recommended for a visit. Friendly and helpful staff to answer your garden queries. This is a tranquil and peaceful haven to take in, whether to meander around or to sit and admire this gorgeous place. An absolute credit to all the people involved in maintaining and cultivating this fantastic space..

The park itself is nice enough, but the cafe near the hall is atrocious. I live next door to the park, and regularly walk through the grounds. Today we went at lunch time and decided to grab a bite to eat. The farm cafe had stopped serving hot food (be nice if the menu made this clear!), so we went to the small outdoor cafe next to the hall. Never again. Bacon clearly pre-cooked and reheated/burnt, very dodgy looking hot dog. Then to add insult to injury a price of £4.50. £15 for two sandwiches, two bottles of coke, and two small chocolate bars. God knows what anyone coming for a day out would make of it, certainly not going to leave them with fond memories of their visit
Anyway, four stars for the park itself and one star (less if possible) for the cafe - steer clear of it if you visit

Took our grandson here today, we haven’t been before so not sure what to expect.
The signage wasn’t brilliant, we found the farm eventually, but no way of knowing where the entrance was and no staff about, and were a bit shocked at the charge for our 2 year old being the same as for an adult - £5 plus no concession for us 2 pensioners, or family tickets , plus £2 for a bucket of scraps to feed the animals., a dear ££££ do if you have a large family. The animals were a big hit though, lots of goats, piglets, sheep, horses, but no chickens 😢 The picnic table area as you go in could do with sprucing up, and the ones by the grass / play park area too, where we sat and had a picnic. Lots of opportunities for little fingers to get splinters. The play park equipment was good, so he enjoyed that. We walked over to find the walled garden but it was shut. Also the only toilets we were told were back in the farm . For a big place there should be other toilets . To be honest we were a bit disappointed, and felt the whole place was run down and could do with some TLC .

Litter and waste everwhere; filthy ponds full of discarded and fly tipped waste; broken fences; fire damaged trees. Offroad motorbikes and quadbikes are illegally ridden here daily. Gangs of men with air rifles and catapults, and other poacher, killing and terrorising local wildlife with impunity (confront them and you risk being attacked). There is no security other than a couple of guys who only leave the hall to unlock and lock the gates (which is pointless as there are 24 hour entry points), meaning its an inherently unsafe park that local poachers, gangs, scrambler riders, drug dealers and drug users and drunks are more than happy to exploit.
The place could and used to be lovely but its an absolute disgrace. And it would be even worse if not for handfuls of volunteers who do their best (which barely makes a dent). I'm a resident who walks in here daily and its sad to see the parks decline over the years. Its too easy to blame this on lack of investment. Its poorly managed and local councillors are more interested in PR events like the farmers market rather than real improvements.

This is such a beautiful place.
I've been visiting here for over 25years and I still find new pathways and areas to enjoy.
The staff are helpful, kind and friendly throughout the park and Hall.
Great and Safe for young people, old people
and families.

Good place for a wander and chill - plenty of grounds to walk around and house to visit plus cafe and the farm for the kids. Plenty of grounds for family groups/playing etc

Hi, I'm due to be attending a gig here shortly and I'm just wondering if there's any event parking or anywhere to park close by at all?
Thanks 😊

We were in coach, and although not at side of the hall, there is a very large car park. It's about a five minute walk.

Hi I would like to know if there is parking for a motorhome available please
Hi there,
There is no offical car park for motorhomes to park up, there is a public car park but it is not designated for motorhomes
Cheers

Is the park dog friendly and can they run off-lead in most places?

Dogs can be off the lead and there are bins for the doggydoos. The park is part of a large estate surrounding Croxteh Hall.

Going to a concert here in summer and don’t know the area at all. Is there a Premier Inn or similarly priced hotel in an area that feels safe within walking distance of the park please?

Yes there is. There is a premier inn at a pub called The Stag & Rainbow on Queens Drive. It would be a 10 minute walk to the entrance to the park through West Derby village which has bars, pubs and restaurants.
