This shopping centre has gone downhill since I last visited. I wouldn't recommend it to tourists as it is now full of fast food chains and an ugly games arcade called Funland. There are no nice shops or independent cafes.

I'm surprised this shopping centre merits to be within the Tripadvisor list of places to visit in London. It is very ordinary surrounded by brutal and 1960's architecture. Students of that period may find it interesting.

The Brunswick Centre used to have a great mix of shops including home wares, fashion retail and upmarket restaurants. Now it’s full of fast food eateries, bubble tea shops, a down market games arcade and a Chinese supermarket. The only thing it’s got going for it, and keeping it alive, is a Waitrose. If you’re a tourist I wouldn’t bother visiting. It’s dull and uninteresting except the building; worth a look if you’re into brutalist architecture.

The design of the Brunswick Centre is very similar to the Alexander and Ainsworth estates in South Hampstead. There are flats above and a variety of retail units, restaurants and a cinema below.
It's a really nice place to visit and is very close to Russell Square and Russell Square Tube station. It's a short walk to the West End as well.
If you like functional and unusual pieces of architecture then this is definitely a place to visit.

Always enjoy London very much. So many things to see and do. Brilliant museums and art gallerys. Plenty of restaurants and places to eat and drink. Beautiful park's.

Dirty looking floors, pathetic stock levels with staple items often out of stock, mainly rude and disinterested staff and a polite but ineffectual manager (James) who hears but does not listen.
I’m a huge fan of Waitrose but this store does not compare to any other branch. It’s my nearest shop so I’m compelled to shop there and have done for years.
Needs a new manager who can actually manage staff. Polite complaints get you nowhere.
Should be reported to regional or National HQ. It’s taken 5 years without improvement but I’ll never shop there again. Disgusting advertisement for the premier U.K. store chain.

I have been using the Brunswick Centre for over 20 years and it is somewhere I enjoy visiting when I am in the Bloomsbury area. The Brunswick is adjacent to Russell Square tube station and comprises cascading residential apartments and a shopping centre on the ground level. The brutalist architecture appeals to me but it is disliked by some who are not entirely keen on modernist architecture. Major renovation works were carried out and completed in 2006 which was quite an upheaval as I was working close by at the time of the works. The Brunswick may not appeal to all but is definitely worth seeking out.

It was not in our plan to visit it. We were walking from Charles Dickens museum towards the nearest underground station. Surprisingly we found it which was just opposite the underground. Love the atmosphere there. We just spent about 30 minutes to hang around and taking photos instead of shopping but it was a good place for shopping as we saw many people carrying shopping bags out from those shop lots. The decoration of the Christmas tree was quite beautiful. There were many restaurants mixed with the shop lots.

A popular lunchtime destination for those in the Russell Square area. It provides a mixture of shops, clothing, food and a cinema. It can get very busy during the lunchtime hours, but it has a good selection of shops to cater for most. There are a few shops that are overpriced for what the provide, but this is typical for Central London. Occasionally, there are statues on display and the Christmas decorations have improved over the years. It is quite a confined space, so there is no option for more seating. However, what it provides is enough for the area.

My wife and I stayed at the President Hotel for 6 nights. We chanced upon the Brunswick Centre while out for a stroll, and ended up going there almost every day. There are convenient supermarkets such as Sainsbury, and a number of very nice restaurants with modern healthy meals.
