It was a really interesting tour especially as I walk past a lot and did not know about the Roman remains. Rob was very informative and helpful and was happy for us to ask any questions and get photos

This is my favourite Roman ruin in London. The site is well presented by knowledgeable guides who actively engage with the visitors and answer questions. The site gave me a greater visual picture and understanding of how Roman bath houses were built and how the hypocausts were constructed. I also enjoyed seeing the roman tiles with animal footprints.

Fantastic Roman archeological find, a gem as it’s a private residence rather than public buildings found in other parts of london and really enlightens about Roman Britain in the 2-3 AD, the amazing Roman architectural standards.

The tour guide was amazing describing history of Londonium from conception to3 AD, the use of the building found, the building above which is the old coal exchange.

A hidden gem-
Only open on a Saturday from April to end of November and ticket booking in advance.

Utterly amazing tour. Well presented tour. Full of factual and interesting information. Yes the Roman house and bathouse were great to see, but he guide Suzanne was brilliant with tons of information that kept the tour interesting. Thank you for a great tour. Highly recommended to anyone interested in Roman London and London History.

This is fascinating look into the past of the Roman Londinium. The ruins, hidden under an office building, are of the layer under the floor of a Roman house and a private Roman bath that belong to the house.
My one disappointment was that, the ruins being the layer UNDER the floor, they left much to the imagination. But they can't really do much about that!
They only offer three tours on Saturdays, but they're worth the time as they are very informative and interesting. The tour is also the only way to see the ruins.

This was a rare and unexpected find on the London tourist trail. While the Roman remains may not have been the biggest or most spectacular, the fact that they survived at all was impressive. A sign outside and a couple of tourists outside looking at their phones told us that we were at the right place. We assembled in what appeared to be the back entrance of an office block to meet our guide. He was ver knowledgeable, enthusiastic and really brought the history of the pace to life. The one hour slot was more than enough to tour the ruins, and being underground on what was one of the hottest days in London was a bonus.

No loud sound or lighting effects. It was explained to us that the remains are exactly as the archaeologists left them. This a a fascinating insight in to Roman London.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The presentation was really interesting; not just giving a script, but given with passion.
We would highly recommend this 1 hour experience and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
(Make sure you arrive on time. There is a lot of information about Roman London)

On Lower Thames Street, in the cellar of a 1970s office building, is another part of London's ancient history. It was here that in the Victorian era, workers found the remains of a Roman bathhouse. It lies just opposite Old Billingsgate Market.

The bathhouse was abandoned in the early fifth century. When the Victorians dug it out, they found in its rubble a Saxon brooch, perhaps lost by an Anglo-Saxon woman when she clambered the Roman ruins centuries ago. All these layers of time and history are typical for London's very own and powerful rules of time. In London, the past and the present coexist, they are intertwined.

This place is definitely worth a visit. I did a guided tour with City guide Claudia Colia and I can definitely recommend her tours. This place is very special!

Tried to visit it more than once. It's not that easy to find out when it's open or how to buy tickets.
