Pretty spot!

Ancient house and many ducks, geese congregated when we were there. A plaque explained the history of the need for a ferry on the river Wensum. Have a closer look when you are on the walk.

An interesting historic site as part of a walk but not much to visit by itself
jun. 2021
An interesting historic site and is a lovely walk to get to through the cathedral close - especially if following the route of the old Norwich wall. Not much to see/do, as the building is not open.

The surrounding location is not particularly atmospheric once you walk away from the cathedral close, as there is a main road on the other side of the river and there are often some odd characters lurking around. Only a small patch of riverbank to sit on so not a good picnic spot.

What a delightful spot.

Now a private house, the watergate at Pull’s Ferry was once home of John Pull, who was the ferryman here. The arched watergate actually dates from medieval times, but the adjoining house is of a later date.

Although effectively within the city centre, this is a beautiful, peaceful spot and with the colour and shape of the riverside house and the verdant trees, it’s like something from a Constable painting.
Absolutely delightful.

A beautiful old, historic building with an information board explaining it's history. Very photogenic building and part of a great river walk

Historic building

Fastinating 15thC house and arch over a now-filled-in canal built for transporting Caen stone from France into the city. We came across this site by following the walk in the Norwich Heritage Trails leaflet, the website link for which was provided by the Tourist Information Centre. Excellent document.

It was an oldy Woldy bridge and well maintained. Rather atmospheric and lovely to stumble upon as part of the riverside walk.

Ferry sad
sep. 2019
This is an iconic building for Norwich. It was the home of the eponymous ferryman Pull who transferred visitors arriving on the Wensum river to the cathedral. Although the shell of the building remains, the interior has sadly been lost and converted into a cafe. It would seem that they struggle to pay their rent to the cathedral which is a shame.

Yes, it's attractive sight on the river walk, and does have a history - but it's someone's HOUSE and I'm not sure how they appreciate it bring a tourist site. look at it, and leave the people in peace.
