Went with our 3 and a half year old. Disappointed the Transport museum was shut on the day we visited especially since I checked the website before we went and didn't notice it said anything about it being shut on the website. The Natural History museum part in the house was ok for a free attraction but we won't be going back any time soon. There was nothing interactive really , just stuffed cases of animals and birds. Luckily our son was interested in them and the labels are very informative.
The best part was the exhibition where you looked through microscopes at tiny models on the eye of a needle ...this was amazing.
The park and grounds were ok and as we paid £5 for parking we made the best of it in the rather inclement weather.
I read somewhere they were considering charging an admission fee to the Natural History Museum in the house; I for one would not be paying to go in.

Interesting displays at the House and a beautiful walk around the park. Good facilities available there (cafe, toilets, parking, independent shops). Impressed to see herd of deer cross the park. It costs £6 to park all day and which is fine considering the House is free to enter, may be worth considering though if only planning a quick look.

Great place to go for the museum, deer and park.
The best part is that it is all free except for the parking.

Chose this as a stop off on the way to Nottingham. Managed to get on a tour which was £15 each but well worth it. Saw all over the hall and went on the roof too for some amazing views, the guide was passionate and full of information. The cafe was good and in better weather there is plenty of walking to be had.

We paid 5 pound parking fee in the shop.Booked a guided tour which was 15 each and lasted an hour.Sandra was our tourguide who was very knowledgeable. The tour took you to the kitchens, tower and underground tunnels which you cannot get to without the tour.
It is free however to get in but I would recommend paying for the tour.
There is a nice cafe there where we had a cappuccino and sausage roll which was nice. There was hardly anyone there which was a bonus.

Amazing park and hall. Crazy that it's free!
The exhibit inside was museum level & the grounds and hall were really beautiful.
Only disappointment was not seeing any deer.

I haven’t been in years, used to go regularly when I lived in Nottingham and to go back there today was lovely. The grounds are gorgeous, the place is great in all weathers and there is always something to do. A lot more there than a few years ago. You do have to pay for parking but that seems like the standard these days.

I’ve been staying in Travelodges for 20 years and Wollaton Travelodge is by far the best Travelodge I have stayed in … staff are very accommodating and Owen gave me a warm welcome on reception and the night ladies couldn’t have been more helpful. Hotel could do with an upgrade but have been informed there will be a refurb in September 5* .

The extensive grounds are good for a walk and a visit in the house with numerous animals and plants to see. There is a fee for parking but the house is free entry which makes this good value.

Hi My great grandfather was a coachman at Woolaton Hall in the late 1800 my grandmother as a child had to curtsy when the coach passed the gate lodge where she lived, I wondered if you had any photos of this time their surname was Holt
Skrevet 30. oktober 2022
Yes, I can confirm as well you can pay cash at the coffe shop right next to the park entrance.
Skrevet 23. oktober 2022
The hall and grounds used to be free other than a charge for parking but if the T-Rex exhibition is still on then you have to pay to get into the hall. I recommend early as they sometimes have a free tour around the hall in the morning.

What time are you able to park in the car park I’m wanting to go down for sunrise around 6am. Or are there any near by car parks where I can walk in via perrearían gates not the main entrance?
Skrevet 22. november 2021
Gates don’t open until 8 I believe this time of year but if you are on foot you can use most entrances , beware when parking inside the actual park works on numberplate recognition and only on parking app ( no cash taken)
