Strongly suggest park and ride cheaper andcwasier than trying to find street parking I beleive their are 4 in Oxford. Our bus came within 10mins dropped us off in the heart if Oxford we were able to walk aound and get a bus back in our time frame. I think the buses come between 10 and 20min appart, 4 pound for parking and 2 to 4 pound for a bus ride return in Lots to see sone building are closed off for uni only students The park and ride buses stop at several places of interest which makes it easier to get around

No, the tube does not go there. Too far NW. From any major above ground train station you can purchase a ticket that takes you into Oxford. The train ride is approximately an hour or perhaps just a few ticks less depending on which station you are departing from. Once you arrive in the Oxford train station, exit and turn off to your right for about a block and then turn left. Several blocks walk over a small bridge and you will emerge in the down town area. I recommend departing early so you can spend a full day in this charming wonderful little hamlet. There are several city tours, a few include tours of several colleges. A multitude of wonderful places to have a bite and perhaps a pint (or two). If you do tour any of the college grounds make sure you have your camera as they are absolutely beautiful! ****note: It is not uncommon for the colleges to charge a fee per person to tour. Though if you take a city tour, that includes a few of the colleges, that fee is included in the tour cost. A wonderful resource is the Oxford tourist center, which if you follow my directions from the train station will be approximately halfway through town on the right side of the road (look up the address before you depart) it is a wonderful place to get information and they have maps of the city you can purchase for a very reasonable price. There is not a place to watch people walk by, but the pub is full of history, as this is the location where the Oxford “writers club” including JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis used to meet weekly to discuss the stories they were working on.

The best way to see oxford and the different colleges is to head first to the visitor center in town (On high street I think ) they offer all sorts of tours , from Morse tours to Alice in Wonderland , all reasonably priced but require lots walking . The best college to tour in my opinion is Christ Church but there are lots of areas you can't enter unless you're in a program there . The famous Harry Potter dining hall is usually no admittance but I think on sat between meals in afternoon u can see in there . The reason is simple , people are eating meals there so no tourists etc
