For people who are interested in the history of science. In a beautiful old building.
We liked it.
There is a chalkboard used by Albert Einstein.

On our initial visit there seemed to be a gent having a medical emergency and so we were ushered out having seen only the cabinet. Not to be defeated we returned the next day and weren’t disappointed.
It’s quite a small museum, three small floors but they manage to pack a lot into the cabinets.
Fascinating items with relevant and interesting information that doesn’t overload you, but gives you enough to help.
Two negatives. There are no toilets, clearly displayed at the entrance so it’s not a surprise just unusual. And Einstein’s chalkboard, we were expecting something with a bit more pizazz I guess. The chalkboard, whilst it does have his writing on was from a lecture he did at the university, still cool, we just felt it’s oversold a tad.
Easy to find. Great way to spend an hour and a half. Some unusual sciencey gifts in the shop that are fun to play with. If you like anything Astronomy related, you will love it here. In our opinion, a must see.

Slightly disappointed, there is a large collection of instruments, mostly for astronomy, well crafted and without any doubt of great significance, but poor explanation for the non expert, to understand what they are for and what was the progress that they achieved.

Labels are too small to read and far too wordy. The artefacts on display are too numerous and cluttered. Subjects such as penicillin, mathematical calculations, location of stars could be demonstrate by a clearer simpler explanation and a couple of objects. Eg. From abacus to calculater. A lot of the repeated artefacts could be put in storage and perhaps displays rotated.
Display less better.

We had a lovely time in this museum. As you can tell by the title of the review this museum is all about vaccinations and not forgetting the other stuff in this museum as well. The vaccination bit was fascinating and had all facts about different diseases and vaccines, including malaria, the 2017 vaccine and the 2020 AstraZeneca covid vaccines. It was so interesting to learn how they were developed, and Oxford is a very prevalent place for vaccines as they made the AstraZeneca covid vaccine. Also it made me appreciate how lucky we are to be in a country that we can get vaccines readily available to us via all our great pharmacies and How lucky we are to be in a world that makes them. The other things were very fun to look at and also very interesting too. They even have the Tycho Brae thing that he used for his astronomy(I think) which was quite fascinating. Also I loved the ceiling on the gallery section of the ground floor. This is much smaller than the other science museum,it’s set on 3 floors,2 floors for the Museum and one floor for the ticket hall. This is such a nice museum and certainly one not to miss!I would highly recommend it.

Not a lot to this museum, just on 2 small floors. Was a little disappointed to be honest. Stairs up and down. On the plus side, is free to enter.

Free entry museum but donations appreciated.
There was a lecture about the discovery of electricity with demonstrations. A fascinating thing to watch.
Also given the chance to try out morse code with my partner. Really interesting and you don’t realise how good the morse code operators were. It is a lot more difficult than it looks.
The museum is well worth a visit.

Limited in scope, but what was on display was very well shown and described. Would recommend someone there able to demonstrate how an astrolabe was used

The range of instruments on display is limited. Two many of the same type. More could be made of how they work and what they were used for.
A cabinet displaying a camera commissioned and owned by Laurence of Arabia contained as centre piece a card explaining that he was probably gay.
Really? In the context of science, it is surely irrelevant.
