If you haven't been to this little hidden gem please make time and go. Beautiful small little park leading down to the Thames with a coffee pavilion ran by different volunteer groups. Always amazing homemade cakes !! It is one of the most relaxing places in my eyes in Berkshire. St Peter's above, great gardens and a place for everyone.

Over the years the grounds have been beautifully restored. It is a very relaxing place to be with well kept borders and some lovely old trees. There is a lot of history to the site, being the site of a 12th century house. All that remains is a 17th century gazebo, which now contains a small exhibition on the history of the site. A delightful spot on the River Thames. There is a small charity run kiosk selling tea, coffee and cakes.

A very pleasant stroll amongst nesting ducks, geese and swans with plentiful babies of those birds waddling around.
Consequently there was also plentiful bird poo on the pavements, some fresh and some well ingrained. However, what do you expect from nature?
At one point a deer sped majestically across the field into the forest as if running from a hunting predator.
All in all a very relaxing way to spend an hour or so.
Close to Caversham centre with coffee shops etc if needed.

Beautiful surroundings, a lovely place to relax by the river.

Tea kiosk selling delicious homemade cake - I think it was RBH volunteers when we visited. A great excuse to eat cake as it's raising money for charity!

The day we visited the gardens were closing early as they had an open air cinema showing so worth checking before you go if you are planning to arrive a bit later in the day. Didn't spoil our enjoyment though and the staff kept us informed as to when we would need to leave.

A lovely little oasis of calm, will visit again.

I am fortunate to know Reading & Caversham very well having grown up there & Caversham Court Gardens never fail to impress with its stunning beauty & the most amazing trees & plants. It still feels as if it's one of Caversham's best kept secrets & even in the summer months when it is busier there the tranquility never alters & the added bonus of the Thames River flowing past is a wonderful bonus. It has a wonderful history to it & is an idyllic setting for inspiration & just watching the world go by. It is a credit to Caversham & Caversham to it.

Victorian park that has been looked after well. Clàssic clues of its Victorian look huge gates , stone pillars and iron gates. Green metal benches, bandstand, cafe and toilets . Staff friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable and hard working.
Play areas , statues and lots of walks.

Picturesque compact gardens beside Caversham bridge & riverside with a sense of history - it isn't large though

The gardens are a relaxing spot beside the River Thames, Well worth a visit at any time of the year. Very popular with families and the facilities are quite good. Great views of all the different activity on the river.
