I should also mention, you joined us during our Arms and Armour weekend event, which explains the snakes. They were a part of our 'armour in nature' display and not, sadly, a regular fixture at the museum! We'll also take on board your comments about the coffee shop. As we make all our food to order it can mean a slighter longer wait during busy times, and we always try to communicate that when we can. Thank you for your feedback, it's much appreciated. We do aim to make sure there's something for everyone at NESM, from the youngest to the oldest visitor, so while there is a lot aimed at a younger audience we do have plenty to read and explore for adults too. In terms of staff numbers we do rely quite heavily on volunteers during busy periods, so our staffing levels can fluctuate. But we do encourage visitors to let us know if they have any problems or questions during their visit and we will always do our best to answer them promptly.

Thank you for the positive review and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to the museum. I am sorry, and surprised, to hear that you thought there wasn't much to engage younger children. We do pride ourselves on providing something for visitors of all ages, so we make sure there is plenty for people who want to learn more about the emergency services as well as those who want to come and play. We are a very popular venue for families with under 5s and get lots of positive feedback about how hands-on, interactive and engaging the museum is for little ones. It's one of the main things that contributed to us being crowned the UK's most family friendly museum last year. So we do think we're a good choice for children of all ages. However we are always striving to make the museum even better, so we appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback, which we will take on board.
