Tripadvisors tilnærming til anmeldelser

We walked down to the trail and then a little way along it. Trail itself has lots of information signs, easy access paths, clean toilets and a cafe.

Walk along the River Rivelin in Sheffield past old mill ponds, and historical sites of twenty former watermills. A wildlife conservation area since 1991.

Walked from the Paddling Pools to Rails Road & back, just under 5 miles round trip. Quality trail path up to the Rivelin chair sculpture. The path becomes rougher going towards the Rails Road end. No toilets at Rails Road car park. I counted 3 sets of stepping stones across the river to navigate depending what path you choose. The trail is a nice mix of industrial history & the natural, only spoilt on my particular walk by the odd noisy vehicle on the nearby road.

Helt fantastiskt vandring längs floden med hund. Svalt och skönt i sommarvärmen, hunden kunde bada hela tiden längs rundan på ca 1mil. Fantastisk natur. Har man hund med sig är det ett måste.

Parked at Walkley Bank Tilt car park which was small but free. We were a group of 3 adults and 3 teens. Everyone really enjoyed it here. The gorge has stepping stones, bridges to cross, various routes to choose from. It was a beautiful adventure. We spent about 3 hours here. Could easily have spent longer here but it gives us an excuse to return instead as there is plenty more to explore next time !

Lovely place to walk, a few gentle slopes, but stepping stones might put people off. Sometimes see kingfishers, dippers and harlequin ducks. Lots of nice picnic spots. Can get busy.

This is a good walk alongside the river through the woods. Could do with more signs. I started from Rails Road and enjoyed a coffee and sausage roll at the cafe before the return walk.

Staying in Crookes for the weekend with friends. Nice way to walk off a Sunday roast. Started at Malin Bridge waking to rails road and back. Great walk with lovely scenery. It’s the third time I have done this walk but always something different to see and the scenery changes with the seasons. Would recommend a visit

Walked a major part of the valley up to the reservoir. A wonderful woodland walk alongside the water. Cool and shady in the summer.

It is always a challenge to find somewhere that teens say was “alright” - but this is one of them! They enjoyed deciding which way to go - over the bridge or the stepping stones? - and spent a couple of hours wandering cheerfully. The cafe was ok - the toasties were yummy as were the smoothies. A twenty minute wait felt quite long. Lots of free parking on Walkley Bank Road.

Hi, how do we find the route that where we can see waterfalls and cascades? Think I keep going the wrong way cause each time I find the chair and stepping stones.

Google rivelin valley fire station on rivelin valley road, park sensibly nearby and just passed the fire station is the entrance to the mouse hole Ross the litre bridge over the river and then there’s a sign showing to the left, follow this path passed the pond and keep going up to the park, passed that an keep following it all the way till you get to the old rivelin post office at the junction with Manchester road, that is the nature trail and there’s loads of old ponds and waterfalls along the way

Is it suitable for someone in a mobility scooter? Thanks

Derby, UK28 bidrag
only the part nearest to the city is as these are wide paths or have tarmac, not long into the route it goes off this and would then not be suitable as route has stepping stones, mud track with tree routes and narrowing paths.
Sections further up can be visited with limited access from the various car parks.

Where would I park to get to the water falls at Rivelin valley

depends on which direction you want to walk it. at the top end there is a car park on rails road (believe this is free, rough postcode of S6 6GF). at the other side i would say free on the roadside of stannington road by where the path starts (S6 5FL)

At the station, hop straight onto the tram for Malin Bridge (buy a return ticket on tram). Easy Walk from there.

Is it suitable for prams?

There are parts which are suitable for prams near the park and cafe. However further along each way it is more rough, some bits are gravel others are woodland paths with roots etc. They can also be quite narrow in places. I once took our buggaboo there and didn't get very far.

Is there anywhere to park other than on the road next to the paddling pools? Is it possible to park further along the trail and walk to the park from there? If so, where abouts would that be, and how long would it take to walk? TIA 😊

You can park I believe just past the fire station which is around a ten minute walk - which is situated towards Hillsborough. Alternatively if you want a longer stroll ( around 40 mins ) drive past the paddling pools along Rivelin Valley Road for about 1 mile and turn left onto Rails Road where you will see a small car park (FOC). This enables you to be able to walk along the nature trail back to the pool and cafe .

The valley its self never closes only the cafe at certain times of the year.
