We took our young granddaughter aged 7 to cheddar to see the caves it was the bankholiday weekend so very busy she enjoyed the visit the price for 2 adults and 1 child 66pounds so not cheap also I was very surprised dogs are allowed in the caves yes they were on leads but some of the dogs were on long leads and it's quite dark down there and at times a bit slippery so to have dogs down there on long leads makes it certainly a challenge for the older generation it certainly makes it more of a trip hazard

We went to cheddar caves as a family of five during the Easter holidays. All the staff were very friendly to both adults and children. The caves were more spacious than I thought they were going to be so you have space to stop and look around and move at your own pace. As usual parking can be difficult at times but as long as you're patient you'll get a space. We will definitely return

the caves are amazing. well worth a visit and be prepared for a steep climb if you take the cliff top walk.
Goughs cave is simply stunning, excavated by hand with candles it truly is a wonder to behold.
the cliff top walk via the steps is worth the effort for the vistas.

Been to Cheddar a few times but always been to late to do the attraction with the Caves as you need a good few hours to explore everything so after we had visited Wookey Hole we decided to make a trip back specifically to visit the Caves as we loved it so much at Wookey Hole, £24 pp and I must say it's worth that to visit the 2 Caves alone the things you get to see inside were just amazing the shapes and look of the walls and calcium deposits are just spectacular we absolutely loved it w could of spent hours in there exploring, Gough's Cave is first with the skeleton on Cheddar man then we went over to the museum of Prehistoric history also included in the ticket then we did Cox's Cave this has a new interactive experience that guides you through they explain this at the start before a group of you go through big shout out to Tom for being so enthusiastic and explaining how to navigate the new attraction, again there were some amazing sights inside the cave and we loved it just a shame other people couldn't follow simple directions and wondered off without listening to the information, next we did Jacobs Ladder it's 274 steps up to a look out point of the Gorge we did the steps luckily there is a stop off point after every 60 odd steps because my legs were suffering lol its very narrow with people coming down as well as up, we decided to give the 3 hour cliff top walk a miss as it decided to absolutely lash down off rain as we were walking up the steps so just looked round up the top and came back down, there was also like a cinema experience available in the back of the gift shop but we gave that a miss aswell, all in all the Caves were just spectacular and I loved every minute definitely worth a visit!

Today was a lovely day, weather-wise, with a thoroughly enjoyable visit, As we had to drive 60 miles we emailed to check the caves were open and they replied quickly which was reassuring. Plenty of parking £6 for the day in Cheddar. We went to Gough’s cave first, and had superb service from two people at reception, whose names we unfortunately didn’t get. We had not sorted out our Tesco vouchers as I had no reception in the carpark, but they were really helpful in aiding us to validate our tickets. Gough’s cave was marvellous, well-lit with excellent simple audio guides. Coffee in the cafe was good. Cox’s cave was worth a visit too. All in all, an interesting almost unique cave system, lots of historical detail - and don’t forget to check out Cheddar Man. Included in the ticket was admission to Jacob’s Ladder which is 274 steps up the high cliff, with a further 50 steps up a tower, culminating in a great view.

Fantastic visit, using Tesco vouchers! We also did the Freefall which was so brilliantly run! Ching and Yvette were such great instructors.

First time visiting cheddar with my friends ,such a cute village . We arrived late afternoon so didn’t have time to visit all the attractions. A helpful assistant advised us to go to Goughs cave and trust me it didn’t disappoint! You feel like you’re walking in the centre of the earth it’s beautiful. And who’d of thought you’d find wheels of cheese all the way down there 😅
We got lots of nice photos and even better memories

Cheese....expensive....opportunities to turn certain parts of the cave into scenes from Fraggle Rock, wasted....distinct lack of Dozzers, their hard work, unrecognised...please tey harder....otherwise a fruitful day...

Lovely day out such a beautiful area, we loved going into the two caves and museum. Really enjoyable and informative. The only downside is the traffic on the road is busy and pavements are crowded. Hope to visit again when it’s quieter.

Lovely day out lots of walking, steps and steep parts on the caves. Loads of history to learn. All along the gorge there is lots of cafes, gifts shops and in particular the Cheddar gorge cheese shop which also has tours where you can watch cheese being made. Lovely stunning views and lovely to see the goats.
