We have been to stoneleigh today, and to be honest I didn’t know quite what to expect, we have been to other Abby’s, palaces and Manor House’s, but I can honestly say as far as guided tours go, this has been an absolute favourite. It was an intimate tour of only 6, and lasted around an hour. Our tour guide was Hugo, an absolute beauty with a voice like butter, I could listen to him talk all day.
He was incredibly inviting, knowledgeable and funny. And eloquently relayed tales of the past.
The amount of information he covered was fantastic and he made the experience exceptional. He’s an absolute asset.
We finished the morning with a lovely coffee in the orangery.
The house and grounds were beautiful but the tour itself was just captivating.
Thank you Hugo and team

Although we were not able to go round the Abbey we went for a tea in the orangey. What a lovely experience the staff were excellent and the cream tea was so fresh . I have a major fish allergy and everything was double checked to ensure I was only having the sandwiches that I was able to eat . On the way out we had a long chat to the young lady on reception she was so knowledgeable and explained all about the history of the house . We will definitely be going back in the spring to visit the house and enjoy another tea .

House tour through limited areas but very beautiful, with an interesting history and informative guide. The grounds are stunning and peaceful. Apparently, the River Avon was diverted and creates almost a lake at the back of the house, for the sole purpose of creating a reflection on the water.
The Orangery is a fabulous spot for refreshment. Sadly, afternoon tea starts at 11am and last booking is about 2.15pm. Brunch or lunch by anyone's standards. The tea itself was disappointing, tea or coffee, that's the choice. Regular pyramid bag, no leaf tea and no choice. Canteen style stainless steel tea pot. I've never heard of an afternoon tea without a choice of teas. One round of sandwich per person, four different triangles, but just like you might make at home. Nothing dainty about them. And, if I hadn't asked for brown bread, it would have been cheap white bread. One piece of cake, yes one, none of your dainty cup cakes or mini cream cakes, just one large wedge of a regular, carrot, coffee, others. It neither suited the environment nor the price.

We had a lovely afternoon out doing the tour and a quick walk along the river.
Views from a mum with a pram:
Quite a small entrance with 3 steps down. I asked if there are any other entrances for future and was told no.
Tour was fabulously engaging, but it could get awkward if baby woke up/fussed because you walk round at a pace set by the guide and in a group with others. It would've ruined it for others and nowhere to discretely step out the room if baby cried. There was a lift for the pram in the house :)
We only quickly popped to the toilet, but I didn't see baby change facilities.
I easily found a bench for breastfeeding.
Other notes:
The season ticket only covers the grounds.
The tour had some nice humorous moments and I'm not a history buff
A sign said no picnics. I'm not sure how they would react to snacks for little ones, but I cant see how they would enforce it

Excellent house tour with a very informative guide
Far exceeded my expectations
It’s a beautiful house and the guide made it easy to understand it’s history and additions over the years
We also booked an afternoon tea in the orangery
This was a well situated building overlooking the river
Originally it was beautiful, but the tacky decor was underwhelming
Why net curtains and plastic flowers?
Artificial bay trees and b&q standard trellis gave a cheap and nasty feel to what could have been a really classy setting
There wasn’t much choice other than which slice of cake you wanted
Have-what-you-get sandwiches ( I’m not a picky eater so I enjoyed them all but wouldn’t suit everyone)
Also a scone with cream and jam
No dainty sweet or savoury offerings you would expect with an relatively expensive afternoon tea
Not the best but okay and plenty for me
There was a good range of tea available and service wasn’t bad but I thought they ought to offer tea top ups instead of having to leave our seats to ask for it
I don’t think it was particularly good value and not worth travelling 30 miles for the experience

Lovely and peaceful place , we decided to do the tour and Paul was a great host and made t enjoyable , I was gifted afternoon tea for 2 for my 60th birthday , we arrived at the orangery was seated and asked what we would like to drink , my coffee was unlimited she said but i never got a second until they brought the £45 receipt telling us it had been paid for …. I now new how much my gift cost too … we was asked what cake we would like not given a selection , 4 triangle sandwiches each mismatched in size and cheap bread , 2 scones that wasn’t fresh at all and 2 slices of pre picked cake , which was dry too … really not worth the money . We wouldnt return .

First visit for us and Once through visitor reception the view of the house is amazing. We arrived with a young baby in a pram to be met with stone steps down to the visitor reception. When I asked the staff member if there was another entrance I was informed in a cool manner that that was the only way in. There’s obviously a disabled entrance somewhere. We therefore had to lift the pram down the steps which wasn’t a good start. I didn’t find the staff member/volunteer particularly welcoming; I would have expected at least a smile! Apart from that the experience of the grounds was lovely (we didn’t do the house tour) and the orangery was nice to have a cuppa in with friendly staff. I think It would be helpful to have information about access perhaps on the website.

I had not heard of Stoneleigh before Lucy Worsley mentioned it on TV.
I was so impressed with just the first view as we exited the ticket shop as it was such a beautiful building.
We had paid for the tour and it did not disappoint at all.
Paul, our guide gave fact after fact after stories, tales and anecdotes. He was enthusiastic and entertaining and I was amazed at all the information were were given. The house that we could see in the tour was beautiful and well kept.
After the tour we went to the Orangery for a lovely sandwich cake and coffee. We didn’t book for afternoon tea but I imagine it would be as good as my sandwich and cake. The staff were friendly and the manager of the area was happy to help.
I would wholeheartedly say visit but do the tour!

Stoneleigh Abbey is such a beautiful place, we visited on a beautiful day (rare for uk) and wow it was just stunning. The greenest lawns, and cleanest grounds, not a piece of litter anywhere! You walk through the entrance towards the Abbey, and just have one of them wow moments! Stunning! There was also a cricket game going on which was nice to see people enjoying themselves. The afternoon tea was pleasant minus the hot temperature inside the orangery, must admit I was sweating and was looking forward to getting back outside. Would be nice if they had more fans or even air con as I found the fans were just blowing warm air around. One thing I will say, make sure you ask when the house tour is as we didn’t and missed the last slot. Would of been nice to be told on the way in. But was still worth the price just looking at the outdoor natural beauty.

Lovely scenery, we didn't tour the Manor or eat in the tea rooms as we had our toddler who wanted to explore. The tea rooms have a lovely view and the scene is great for photos from what I could see in the Manor house it is beautiful

We will be using public transportation to get here from Stratford Upon Avon. It looks like the journey ends with a 1.5 mile walk. Is that a safe walk, or should we take a taxi/uber?

I would get the bus to Kenilworth from Stratford x17 ..... and then get a taxi from the taxi rank by Kenilworth clock to stoneleigh abbey.

Hi, I've just purchased a Groupon voucher for your 'sparkling afternoon tea with grounds entry for two'. Does this include the House tour or is that a separate charge? If so how much is the tour?. Thanks
