Great place to visit with loads of planes and history and loads to look at
Great little cafe and shop to buy model planes and a little club house for modelling going on

Visited with my plane mad husband and baby as a treat, as we live locally an opportunity to go into a Vulcan seemed too good to pass up.
The museum is interesting and clearly very loved. I found it a bit hard to follow what was what in the initial whittle exhibit with there being so much crammed into a small space.
The planes themselves are interesting but the signage could be improved with a bit more interesting facts for those of us with no plane knowledge.
The Vulcan cockpit visit was the absolute highlight of our trip with the guy up there giving a really informative talk and it was great for my husband to get to go in.
Pleasantly surprised by there being a really decent baby changing table too!
Excellent value for money and clearly run by people with a lot of love.

Had two visits recently with my 8 year old son both on Saturdays. We found all of the volunteers welcoming, we had the opportunity to explore several planes (Vulcan, Argosy and Hind helicopter) and several cockpits inside and out (notably what remains of a harrier jump jet). My son absolutely loved his first visit he was very enthusiastic so we returned for a second visit and again he loved it. There is a lot on display here and the museum is largely themed around manufacturing and airfields in the area but its not limited to this. I did notice some changes made to the exhibits so clearly some of the smaller airplanes inside are sometimes rotated. These visits weren’t my first I’ve been on my own as well. If you’re interested in aviation I’d make a visit. The museum is next to Coventry airport and although this is a small airport it does add some charm with single engined airplanes occasionally taking off.

We spent a very interesting and informative morning at the museum. We would recommend this as an interesting and informative visit.
We had a very warm welcome from all members of staff.

The museum give a full understanding of the work of Sir Frank Whittle the pioneer of jet flight.

There was an opportunity to go into several of the planes. This is brilliant, it gives a wonderful insight into the conditions former airmen flew in.
The volunteer staff are so well read on the background and developments in jet technology and production. They are happy to answer all questions and give their time freely.

The entry cost is worth every penny, a cafe and shop with a good selection of kits that will keep both young and older modeller happy for many hours.

I was staying nearby in Studley and realised this was so near so next spare day we decided to visit . Ample parking and easy to find., as Oaps we were only charged £8:50 each to enter . We looked around the first part and then sat down and watched the video about the founder of the jet engine and his life story. Looking around the next parts inside which some exhibits were upstairs we ventured outside to look at the exhibits outside . This exhibition was really worth the drive to see and worth the experience seeing all these aircraft and history.

Visited the museum on a very quiet day, staff very friendly. Lots of information about Sir Frank Whittle and the development of aviation. However, most of the exhibits looked very tired, and the signage could do with an update.
Inside there were a mass of exhibits that appeared jumbled with little cohesion.
Tea room was good and reasonably priced.

Visited today with my 25-y-o son, second time here for me, first time for him. He enjoyed the visit enormously, as did I. We were shown around two aircraft, the Lockheed Elektra and the Vulcan bomber by very enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. There are several jet engines on display, some cut-away to show the workings, and a lot on the history of the jet engine. Very enjoyable visit.

What a hidden gem. This quietly understated museum has an amazing collection of aircraft and memorabilia. The highlight of course is the amazing Avro Vulcan, open at times for you to climb in and see what it was like for the crew. We had a great explanation from Roger.
There is also the most amazing collection of models and many for sale.

It is great that places like this still exist, I feel it is important we support them. The volunteers are a friendly bunch - stop and look around then have a cuppa with them.

We didn't know this museum existed until the night before we visited when we were looking at a place to break a rainy journey with a small person. What it isn't is a shiny 'experience' - It's a big unheated hanger full of stuff and a lot of additional planes outside. The staff and volunteers are really lovely, and very happy to chat and to explain things. Their approach is very much fixing things however they can so that you get a good experience of the exhibits, and that works well. There is a little cafe that does decent toasties and sandwiches too. The absolute highlight is the Vulcan - being able to climb up the latter into the nose.

Going in late Autumn/early Winter was not the best of choices, as the museum is not heated, and of course the exhibits outside are exposed to the elements.
The history of Frank Whittle was pretty good, and getting close to the Avro Vulcan was nice, and had not realised just how big the wingspan was.
A lot of the exhibits outside need some TLC, and the inside seemed cluttered.
Having said that, the kids enjoyed it.
