Went to "Goodwoof" at Goodwood House today. As it says, it's all about dogs. We took ours as did thousands of others. What a brilliant day. Fortunately the weather was perfect. The grounds are extensive and magnificent. There was so much to see and do. Gundog, sheepdogs and lots more, training and demonstrations. Lots of opportunity to join in the fun with your dog too. We'll organised event in a perfect location.

Quantity of food offered a little mean. Scones the smallest I’ve ever seen! No second helpings offered. Uncomfortable dining chairs. Tea not fresh so Earl Grey was cold far too strong.

Choose the first tour and tea of the as it is less busy later,friendly reception,we felt welcome and appreciated.The guide was well informed polite and not rushed.The house is a delight,not too large,seats on the tour for those who needed them.It is beautiful but not too large so not tiring or boring.To be able to be up close to works by Stubbs and Canalleto is a priviledge.
Tea was equally porfessional,young staff attentive and enthusiastic,the snadwiches were fresh and tasy,good value and with a choice of unusual teas instead of the usual 'safe' varieties.
The Duke does a fine job,attention to detail extraordinary!
In short not to be missed!!!

I was brought tickets for afternoon tea at Goodwood house for my birthday. Yet it is only open in October and fully booked. Nothing on the website about it not being available for 5 month!! And no dates to book in March. I feel totally deceived.

Had an amazing tour of Goodwood House followed by a sumptuous Afternoon Tea. We were greeted at the front door by very friendly staff, Sheilah our tour guide, was amazing with her overall knowledge of the house and artefacts, so many beautiful pictures adorn the rooms, Sheilah kept her audience interested, with explanations and information, there was not one dull moment, her interaction with the visitors was next to none, she is a real treasure to Goodwood. We were then guided into the fabulous Ball room where the afternoon tea was served. Again the staff greeted us with a smile and professionalism. The afternoon tea was served, which was a real treat on the eye, well executed, the finger sandwiches were ample, fillings were delicious, scones were served warm with ample clotted cream and Jam, and then to the cakes, not only looked fabulous, but we’re a delight to eat, they were amazing, and again plentiful. This experience is worth every penny, a real treat in a glamorous setting.

What a lovely afternoon spent at Goodwood House, the tour was brilliant the lady who took the tour was so informative, then the afternoon tea , we felt it was one off the best afternoon teas we have had , sandwiches were so fresh ,my husband asked if he could have a few more sandwiches off course the waitress said , the cakes and fancies were also delicious.

The tour was the right length, although it was obvious that it would take much longer to properly absorb all the art and artifacts on display. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the house and the family. Tea was delightful in such lovely surroundings. The catering team were ever so helpful, and we never felt rushed at all. The tea was delightful, fresh sandwiches and cakes and just the right quantities. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
A wheel chair was provided for my Mother which made her visit so relaxing.

We took a tour & it was an amazing experience.
We had such a lovely afternoon at Goodwood house.
What an impressive building. From the minute we entered the house we were transported back to a time of opulence & grandeur.
The staff were all lovely especially Emily in the tea room.
She actualy enhanced our visit by making us feel so special.
Even the young security guy we spoke to as we left was so happy to tell us a little more about the house to add to our knowledge.
Thank you for choosing such beautiful staff who made our visit so memorable.
We will never forget it & will definately return.

We visited the House for the guided tour, which takes about an hour. The House itself is well worth a visit both for the quality of the furnishings and the fact that it feels like a lived-in home rather than a fossilised museum piece. However, the big plus was the quality of the staff from ticket office, to volunteer guides and security - they were knowledgable, helpful and pleasant and made the visit really special. Thank you.

But you probably have to walk further than when going on the bus.

Going to the Festival of Speed this year for the first time unsure what it all finishes, and is it easy to get away from the event ?

It can be busy leaving after the event, depends on which day you are going. Suggest you note carefully which public car park and where within it you're parked, as some people forget or waste time looking for their car even if they remember the car park they're in. As to end time and other programme of your day the best thing to do is call the Goodwood Team 01243 755055 they will have the latest information to assist you.

What is the parking like when the festival of speed is on. what are the facilities like? cost etc

The parking is very organised, to their credit they fill up the fields in a very organised manner. If it's raining pack gumboots. They also have complimentary train tractors to assist with the long distances you have to walk to get into the event. However it is the driving there, the road does not cope with the volume of traffic. Took hours crawling for miles in the car. Parking is free. Next time we go we would catch train from Portsmouth to Goodwood (Chichester station) then their are plenty of dedicated buses taking you quicker route into the track.

is there a shuttle bus around the circuit ? my wife cannot push me in a wheel chair I am reliant on crutches

Sorry just saw this enquiry. There is a tractor that takes you up to the Flint Wall. Queues are long, (approx 20 minute wait). Wheelchair access is quite good. They have paths around the circuit. You would have to be very fit to get around on crutches, it's a huge event in terms of area. Try and take the wheelchair as well. Except if it's raining - the ground is wet and muddy not a lot of fun.
