We had afternoon tea at the worth valley railway, with unlimited train travel. This was for our ruby wedding aniversary on the day we went, we tried the real ales on the beer train while we were there. I had the hand pulled Worth Valley Railway pale ale, it was a very good pint. We were booked to have our afternoon tea at 3.15 on the pullman carriage, all the staff were very helpful with any problems we had, the afternoon tea was fantastic, excellent, the quality of the food was very good. We would highly recommend the afternoon tea, great value for money. We look forward to doing it again a some point. Not sure when yet.

I booked afternoon tea on a steam train for my brother's 70th birthday present, and it was delicious. Lovely food and friendly service

It was very convenient to find a heritage railway that was running on a weekday when the kids are at school. Despite this the railway was quite busy and would it would have been worthwhile operating. It travels through some very historical country side and one of its stops is Howarth as most people would know. Timing of trains accommodate a visit to this destination.

I don't think I can even begin to explain how much I enjoyed this experience from beginning to end. It really was superb. The value for money is astonishing, it would still be cheap at twice the price. All the staff I encounter were truly wonderful and helped with making it a great experience.
How do I even begin on the amazing food? There was so much to eat it was impossible to get through it all, I suggest you don't eat for a week beforehand. The sandwiches and sweets were all gorgeous, they looked great and tasted great too. Service was very quick, they kept our glasses and cups topped up at all times and delivered it with a smile. We were provided with doggy bags to take home what we didn't eat and there was a lot!
The cream tea comes with an unlimited day ticket on the train like and entrance to the museums.
Here's my tips to make it a top day.
Get on the first train of the day and head to Haworth or Oxenhope if you haven't started there and have a look around then make sure you get a train back to where you're picking up the restaurant car, your email will tell you that although you pick it when you book.
Travel up and down while you're eating then head off to your next tourist destination.
The museum at Ingrow closes at 4, so make sure you see that early.
If I have one piece of constructive advice it's that I found that info a little difficult to find on the website to be able to plan, but it's a minor gripe.
I will definitely do this again as it was a wonderous day traveling back in time.
I cannot recommend it highly enough

We were visiting the Bronte museum when we heard the engine toot. We only road it to one station and back for a bit of fun.
We noticed people were in carriages having afternoon tea, and we have considered going back for just that.
We sat in one with a couple with a dog, so it's dog friendly.

This was a great afternoon out. The journey up and down the line in well looked after carriages was excellent. The scenery was fantastic and we played a game of spotting the industrial heritage.
As we had a limited time we did not leave the train at any of the stations to explore any of the villages or towns. Will leave that for another time.
Would also recommend lunch in the cafe opposite Haworth station. It didn't look a good place to eat from the outside, but food and service was excellent.

We had a wonderful time on the "Stokers Lunch Trip". We were blessed with some sunshine which was the icing on the cake. The hospitality team looked after us well and it was so relaxing eating and drinking while we sat in the Pullman car. We were late getting there as ironically Network Rail had cancelled our train and the Uber got stuck behind a load of pony and traps going to Appleby fair. Even though we are quite late the staff welcomed us and made sure we got on the train. It is a refreshing change to have keen knowledgable people looking after you.

Fabulous experience, loved all the wonderful steam trains. So well looked after, marvellous to see the well oiled and clean engines turn about at Oxenhope. We took a train to Ingrow to visit the museums. Loved the Engine Shed and Carriage Works Museums. We returned to Oxenhope to catch our Stokers Lunch service. Thoroughly enjoyed, only criticism was the lack of "unlimited" tea. Otherwise a lovely experience for our anniversary. I just loved watching the engines swap ends, pull in and out of stations, the sounds, the smells, lovely!
Lovely staff and volunteers at every part of our journeys. The dedication to the railway is clear to see.

A little disappointing for such a well known railway. This was a diesel DMU service as advertised for the day I visited, but I had expected a 'heritage' diesel, not a modern metro unit that had only been withdrawn from main line service four years ago. At £15 for a return ticket (just 15 minutes and 5 miles each way) this is expensive. A £22 rover ticket is better value and also includes entry to the two museums at Ingrow which are worth seeing. The stations are all well presented, but there's not much to see. Even Oakworth, famous for the Railway Children film, is smaller than expected. The first mile from Keighley is through the industrial outskirts of the town, but after that there are some good views. As it rained all day, much credit to the staff and volunteers who kept the railway running.

It was good to be back at this fine heritage railway and we enjoyed an afternoon of travelling up and down from Keighley to Oxenhope and back. It was particularly nice to see so many young volunteers, learning the ropes from the senior ones. Much praise has to be given to the young lady learning to be an engine driver. She was running about doing all the dirty jobs and of course, that is the best way to learn. There does however, seem to be a generation gap of volunteers between the young and the old and the time will come when this needs to be filled.

Our train started off late and got later and later as the afternoon progressed; cutting 30 minute stopovers down to 10 or 15 minutes. This didn't allow for enough time to get off and go to the loo, given that our carriage was the furthest away each time. An improvement could be made to the stairs leading up to the KWVR, as there is no handrail on these and it is therefore difficult for a disabled person with a stick, to climb up or down them.

That said, we enjoyed travelling up and down the scenic valley of the river Worth. There are also some very pretty stations on the line, many of which are worth a look at. Thanks to all the volunteers for their tireless work and commitment.
