The exhibition of Charlotte Brontë's clothes and personal possessions was a highlight. The house was so beautifully presented and the staff/volunteers couldn't have been more helpful. This is one of the best museums I have ever visited as it gave a real insight into the lives of the Brontes. I hope to return again soon.

We had a private tour of the Museum with Ann Dinsdale. Would highly recommend. Ann’s knowledge and infectious enthusiasm were great.
Thank you Ann

I’ve lived in Leeds for a year now and can’t believe it’s taken me this long to make a visit! A really interesting experience and well worth the trip out. Loved it!

On a day visit to Haworth we visited here as my 9 year old had learnt about the Brontes at school and wanted to come. We booked tickets for 10am (as soon as the Parsonage opened). We visited on a Friday during school time and it was lovely and quiet, but did begin to get busy by the end of our visit. What a beautiful well kept building and grounds. There are information boards in each room. My daughter was also given a free children's quiz booklet which gave her something to hunt for in every room alongside more information in child friendly language. We all enjoyed our visit,(my parents, myself and my 9 year old daughter) and learnt lots of information that we didn't know. The gift shop is great and my daughter bought a large feather pen (meant to look like a quill) which my daughter loved, and a book called 'The Brontes, children of the moors' which is a beautiful book, a staff member also stamped it to say that it had been bought at the Parsonage making it a great keepsake.
Staff are placed throughout the museum and were super friendly, helpful and informative. Thanks!

The Parsonage was the home of the Brontë family as everyone knows.
It's so lovingly preserved, you get chills when you walk through the door!
5th time I've been but it's never fails to enthral me!

Charlotte wrote Jane Eyre, Anne wrote Agnes Grey and Emily wrote Wuthering Heights here what more could you want but to be allowed to walk in their footsteps?
The portrait Branwell their brother painted is fascinating although a copy now as the original was sadly sold.
A little walk on the moor afterwards and you have the full package!
Wonderful. I'll be back!

This is the most fascinating museum, full of the Brontë family’s possessions. The guides are so well informed, and had the answer to every one of my many questions! Thank you especially to Ian.

As a Yorkshire person visited here many many times. Part of our heritage. Such a wonderful story of the three amazing sisters. It’s beautifully maintained and researched. And evocative of the life’s of the women. The exhibition on at the moment on Charlotte’s clothing is wonderfully staged and explained. Quite lovely to see indeed. Fascinating and in such detail. Another angle on Charlotte. She obviously had a true sense of style and graciousness. I will try and visit again before it finishes and recommend to all. With her gorgeous wedding bonnet and veil on view it seems to tilt a little the view of Charlotte and her “ plainness. And it seems to suggest she got a lot of her stuff locally in Leeds. Also that a lot of the dress materials used were made locally. Meticulously researched and labelled it was superb. Thank you Haworth Parsonage. A new delightful angle on our famous Yorkshire lasses.

First of all the negatives, as i'm fuming about this and will be issuing a letter of complaint. We pre-booked a time slot and arrived at the museum. Then we were told that we had to wait outside in the freezing cold behind some other visitors also waiting to go in, until the staff saw fit to let us in. Then we were challenged at the door by a staff member for not wearing masks and encouraging us to put one on. This despite there being no Covid restrictions in place anymore by the Government and therefore it is now personal choice. I do not appreciate being accosted at the door of the museum and embarrassed in front of other visitors for not wearing a mask when masks are now just like the Bronte sisters. History. I told her we don't wear masks and then proceeded into the house where a number of staff using walkie talkies were busily telling people where they could go and what room they could go in next due to social distancing. We will always be courteous about giving people space but we do not need to be ushered around like cattle. If visitors are that bothered about Covid then don't go. Normality means that. No masks. No distancing. Not happy? Don't go. Had two years of little hitlers joyously bossing us about due to nonsensical ludicrous Covid rules and regs and now normality has resumed, yet these people don't like it. I completely understand that the museum is a small place and space is tight but we are grown adults for pete's sake! We felt awkward walking around the museum not wearing masks as just about everyone else had caved in and were doing their good old virtue signalling deed for the day by still wearing masks. Not us. Never again. Anyway. The museum itself was smaller than expected but the obvious sense of history and connection to the Brontes more than made up for this. Some of the displays were a little 'samey' but overall it was an enjoyable visit and i recommend it to anyone. The other negative though is that it cost nearly 30 quid for 2 adults and a child but there is no visitors toilet onsite. Which is completely unacceptable for a venue that charges. There are public toilets in the nearby car park but they aren't pleasant and they aren't always open. Meanwhile the gift shop is very spacious. Maybe cordon a portion of that off and built a bloody toilet for paying customers? Might be an idea? Overall a special place ruined by Covid obsessed zealots and an unacceptable lack of toilet facilities.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience last weekend. We are sorry you had to wait a short time before entering the Parsonage. As you acknowledge, the Museum is an intimate building and as visitors take differing amounts of time to study the exhibits and read the interpretation, there is occasionally a delay in being admitted. Once inside however, all visitors are welcome to spend as long as they wish and our friendly and informative staff are on hand to help with any enquiries. We are aware that the Government has now dropped all covid restrictions and that the wearing of masks is now a personal choice. However, due to the ongoing number of daily cases and the limited space in the Museum, our staff have been trained to invite visitors to continue to wear them for the time-being. There is no obligation to do so, but we know that many other visitors have been very grateful for this and the fact that we monitor numbers to avoid over-crowding; something which not only helps staff, volunteers and visitors feel safe, but also ensures a better visitor experience. We can assure you that there was no intention to embarrass you or make you feel awkward. Finally, we are very aware that the lack of onsite toilets is inconsistent with our status as a world-famous visitor attraction. As a Grade 1 listed building, there have been challenges associated with providing these. However, we are currently drawing up plans for fully accessible facilities and seeking external funding to pay for them. Like many museums heavily reliant on admissions income, the events of the last two years have a devastating impact on our finances. Your tickets are valid for 12 months, so we do hope you will visit us again soon.

The is a beautiful exhibition, on for the next year Defying Expectations, really well done and interesting. I have been several times before but not in the last 2 years for obvious reasons. You do need to book a ticket in advance and the numbers in the house are kept small, also staff were masked and visitors also where possible. Very friendly staff, nice small shop. There ought to be a toilet. Parking close by but you do have to pay. Go to the church afterwards. Good team effort for an exhibition that should have worldwide interest.
