My twin brother Stephen and I decided to spend five nights in Leeds visiting the great pubs, bars and bars this city processes and taking in the wonderful sites ,we jumped the train down from Liverpool and on exiting the railway station we walked down New Station Street onto City Square.
In reality not a square ,City Square is dominated by the wonderful equestrian statue of Edward, The Black Prince, a very prominent landmark, around the square is some amazing looking building in particular the Old Post Office Building and The Majestic Building, superb pieces of architecture, all around the square you will find some great pubs, bars and restaurants, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a trip to Leeds.

This is easy to miss as a square as it is not really square like. It is pretty enough but does not have the gravitas and appeal that some other city or town squares has. Still worth a visit some of the buildings are lovely

My partner and I visited Leeds from Glasgow yesterday and I really wanted to see the City Square... walked there from the shopping centre to find it pretty disappointing. It wasn't even a full square.. if you're visiting the restaurant that's situated there I'm sure it's a nice view but that's about it. Just a bunch of pigeons really...

Was so very much looking forward to Leeds german christmas market 2019. So disappointed.. No atmosphere..many stallholders seemed glum (not all) Stalls mainly were avarage hot food stalls.. A couple of German stalls selling exactly the same gifts.there was also some just... avarage English stalls .. We expect some English stalls .. But it didn't feel like a German christmas market to us at all ...we walked around it in less than an hour....we expected some German foodstuffs to take away for presents.and a Christmasy atmosphere.. We experienced neither... Needs a big overhaul.. Most disappointing Christmas Market either german or English I've ever been too ... Not worth a special visit tor the market.. We were on a coach trip specifically for the German Christmas Market.. Very very underwhelmed

Very poor for a Christmas market. Some gift stalls but mainly food and drink in the few stalls that are there. The market is away from the main shopping area so even on the day we visited it wasn’t really busy. Very disappointed

A short walk from the train station and the Park and Ride bus stops (which we used, cheap, easy and efficient), and in the heart of the city. A vey impressive city centre square, lot's of tall impressive buildings and central statue the Black Prince on horseback. This location is close within walking distance of a huge variety of shopping centres, pubs and restaurants. Full of life and a very vibrant location. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, the square itself was obviously very busy wth traffic, but local shpping centres are pedestrianised. Great place to be for shopping or socialising.

This is a nice square opposite the Queen's hotel. Now home to a number of restaurants. Plenty statues of which the one of the Black Prince takes prominence.

If you come out of Leeds station you can go this way to get into the city centre. Be careful of the road though as some of the traffic goes quite fast so make sure you remember what the Green Cross Code Man says and Stop, look, listen.

I'm not sure this is a major point of interest but some impressive buildings surround it. When we were there this week, there was a sprawling "German Christmas Market" - which would be impressive only to someone who has never seen a German Christmas Market before! Not only are real German markets very different but even the others I have seen in the UK have more style and presence.

The large central room is very noisy when there are lots of customers making it hard to talk. The food was nice but expensive. The spiral stairs down to the toilet is s hazard when you have had a few sherbets. Staff pleasant and friendly.
