A free place to wander around with dogs, children and your elderly Mum. Lots to see including the great views, war memorial and canon to name a few. Plenty of picnic area.
The toilets are clean , but they cost 20p a time.

Definitely a must see when in Aberystwyth. It’s free and really cool. Some nice views from the top of the castle and lots of places inside the walls to explore. Really glad we started here on our day in the town.

Visited on a sunny afternoon and there were lots of families there. Great to see kids having a great time clambering on the stones. It was a really good atmosphere and it's free!

Free access to this site, which is about as close to the sea as you can get. Great views, a lot of very fresh air and sadly, little information. Great safe place for kids to explore ( no heights) and plenty of ice creams nearby.

The views are decent enough on a nice day. Like the rest of the town, the castle looks better from a distance. Once you're actually there, there's not much to it. There's a few rocks for the kids to climb on, and if it isn't too windy, might be an alright spot for a rest.
I wouldn't go out of my way to see the castle, but it's ok if I happen to be in the area.
The park by the castle is decent enough for the kids though.

We visited midweek. The view is fine but it's small and not particularly well kept - there was broken glass in quite a few areas which seemed to have been there for a while.
There were no information boards or anything to really tell you about the history of the castle.

These ruins were a fantastic viewpoint for the town and the local beaches. The whole area was beautifully kept and my teenage grandson really enjoyed the area. I would have liked some more information about the castle remains.

Plenty of on street parking nearby, we wandered through the castle for half an hour or so. There doesn't seem to be much info about its history, but its a great spot to explore.

A free walk around the castle ruins, with a lovely view of the coast line.
You can see the prison gates and walk by the walls. Great playpark in the gardens next to it too.
