Visited on the 1st November 2023 with a friend and we had a great experience. There had been lots of rain recently so there was a lot of water around which I think made the falls more spectacular! We did get a bit of rain on the day but we had our water proofs on and walking boots so it didn't bother us too much.
I logged the route as 9.3km on my Apple Watch and we did the full red route plus all 3 green sections. It took us 3.5 hours including our 20 min stop for lunch.
This was long walk for me and I'm not particularly fit but I didn't find it too challenging (l'd say just challenging enough) some of the hills are tough but there are plenty of flatter parts too so you get a break from the steep parts.
The route was fairly quiet for us, we passed a few groups throughout our walk but l imagine in the night of summer it could get very busy.
Parking was fine, I think we paid £4 for the day.
I would highly recommend this hike if you're visiting the area!

Wow! What a place! So worth a visit!
We parked at the 4 waterfalls car park because it is near the cave and there is a walk all the way along to Sgwd Eira and 3 other waterfalls on the way back to the car park. It's not big so I'd advise going either early morning or late afternoon. There are toilets and a little shop with a very helpful person on hand to give directions! Also a food and drink van! It's a good mostly flat walk to the entrance to the waterfall (approx 40mins to the entrance to the waterfall not the actual waterfall) however the steps down to the waterfall are shady, steep, many and busy! Not ideal for visually impaired or unbalanced! Takes a while to walk down with narrowish steps and letting people pass.
Then when you get down there, it's incredibly rocky so you need to be very sure of foot to make it behind the water fall itself. There are lots of rocks to perch on and look at the waterfall if you don't fancy clambering! The waterfall itself is magical and wonderful to walk behind. The pool is inviting and crystal clear!
Takes a while to walk back up to the main path after but was all worth it!

So many great waterfalls in the area, but this is one of the best. Some walking routes take you through the back of the fall, so be prepared if your route crosses the river at this point - it requires getting wet, walking under the back of the fall. From both sides north or south the views of the falls are impressive as they are from above.

This is a beautiful location to visit however it is very difficult to get to and, in my opinion, totally inaccessible to disabled persons.
Not advisable for children.

Nice drive through to the car park. Very nice pretty adventure walking trail and water fall. Parking 5£. No food stalls.
Please carry water proof clothing/covers. If you are a photographer, don’t forget your tripod. Very cold in winter. Best viewed in spring and summer. Autumn May give you nice colours for your pictures. There are sit down areas with wooden tables and benches.
Steps may be slippery. Take care with your walks. Wear walking boots. Take additional clothing.
Consider arranging half of the group having a snack and looking after your back packs while the other half walk down to see the fall. Taken turns.
You need changing clothes on return. Taking a walking stick may be helpful in certain age groups.

Fantastic Area. Well kept trails and beautiful beautiful views.
The area accommodates so well for all types of visitors. There is a car park which is easy to navigate at the base camp (for those who want to go rambling) and as a couple… we were able to park up, pay for the day and visit two of the four waterfalls in the space of 3 hours. Highly recommend

If you are up for a bit of walk, this would be something you'd enjoy. We did go to four waterfalls car park which cost us £5 (it's best to have cash), we were guided by friendly team to our parking which was hassle free. We walked to Sgwd yr Eira, which was about 35/40 minutes walk. The view was amazing and got to even behind the waterfall for our photos (when we arrived, water levels were quite low). Over all well worth going.

Hi. I’m visiting the area with my two children in October half term. I know the weather is unpredictable at this time, but do you think this would be suitable for a 3 and 5 year old? (We are used to walking/hiking) how far/much incline from the carpark to the falls? Thanks. X

The paths are reasonably good, so I believe you could use a buggy for the 3 year old. The inclines are not steep. It took us about 40 minutes to walk to the falls at a leisurely pace with a few stops to take photos.
Enjoy your trip.

It’s Cf44 9je
Although the satnav stops in the middle of nowhere continue on the road and you will see signs to the waterfall car park

Hi Phyllis, Postcode we used was CF44 9JF, this is the nearest postcode available as the car park itself does not have one, it is fairly easy to find from there though.
Have a great time it is truly stunning whatever the weather.
