Brought here by my sister with friends. Absolutely loved it!
Super tasty cocktails and a great range! Loved the book with all the stories.
Staff were really attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is great.

A perfect date night bar. The staff are fantastic, above and beyond! They looked after me and my partner all night, I felt like I was in someone’s home and they were the perfect hosts, made us feel so relaxed and we never had to ask for service they were just on it. Gorgeous cocktails, great atmosphere, clean and tidy toilets, honestly I don’t have a bad word to say about the place. We will be back for sure!

So glad when researching places to drink in Cardiff I came across the dead canary. What a find, discreetly hidden away and felt like somewhat of a secret club. Loved the ambience of the place, subdued lighting, comfy seats, and music playing in the background even when got a bit busy still felt intimate enough for date night. The bar staff are so friendly going above and beyond to explain the story behind the cocktails, accommodating that making any drink that wasn't on the menu. The effort that goes into the menus doesn't go unnoticed, sucks you in and provides good conversation prompts. The cocktails were tasty and well made abit more expensive than some but you can taste the high end ingredients and they are washed down with a glass full of crushed ice. The water on arrival and being topped up throughout the evening is another lovely touch.

Had such a great time. Enjoyed all drinks that we had. The service was spot on, friendly and informative. A relaxing atmosphere, I recommend!

Amazing 🤩
You have to go… drinks are fantastic, setting is amazing and the staff are adorable.
In Cardiff this is a must… make sure you book in advance as they get very busy!

Absolutely wonderful experience for my 7th anniversary.
The vibe and experience of the bar is incredible. I love the theme of Welsh lore for their drinks. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. My only regret was that I could not stay there longer!

Such a warm welcome / lovely service throughout. Fairly small cocktail menu but they said they can make whatever you’d like. We ordered Cocktails from the menu however and I liked it indicated what type of glass it’s served in. The staff went to a real effort re theatre of it all. Definitely quirky and definitely secret, we could barely find it - hint hint the birdcage !

A great venue, lovely vibe, fantastic drinks and service which brings me and my friends back every weekend. Not to mention the events they host from time to time that are wonderful and exciting.

They have a good selection of different malts & recently acquired a couple of special Glenmorangies they’ve also got a couple of Japanese malts as well as a couple of Ardbeg and Penderyn as well as a selection of Bourbons!!
Now & again they also have tasting nights!🥃 🥃🥃
