Went here with two teenage girls and spent a pleasant hour exploring and trying to spot puffins.
The scenery was amazing though I did get a bit nervous of my girls as the cliffs are so so sharp, I would never be able to bring my younger ones here or I would be a nervous wreck.
I thought it was great- wildlife, views, and being active out in nature.
Would definitely go again.

The view was spectacular got loads of stunning pictures, the only reason I rate it 4 stars is because the bullars of buchan to slains castle side of the walk was closed.

Simply put, this has some spectacular views. Although we came on an extremely windy day, it was sunny and clear, so you could see a far distance along the Scottish coastline and into the North sea. However, it is not the perfect tourist destination, which is why it is not a 5 star place. There is a lack of information about the site, no restrooms, and no safety precautions. I know it is a coastline, but if it is going be a tourist place it should at least have a bit of safety and info.
However, you should go (being careful on the edges) as the views are amazing and just remember to go to the bathroom before you get there!

Our mistake was going there on a rainy and windy day. It is a short walking distance from the free car park but the path is so slippery and dangerous especially with a young child. However the view is breathtaking. We werent lucky enough to see the puffins but just the scenery was worth to go there.

The Bullers of Buchan is a spectacular 30 metre deep collapsed sea-cave, and it’s believed the name might originate from the French word “bouiller” meaning to boil, as the sea water rushing in to the chasm can be churning and tumultuous. The cliff-top scenery around here is absolutely breathtaking, and you do feel like you’re on top of the world - sharing it with extremely noisy sea-birds, who nest here on the precipitous ledges. However, the heights are dizzying, and the path narrow, slippy & muddy in places ( in March) so extreme care & caution are required, as well as sturdy footwear if you’re trekking further. It was extremely windy when we were visiting, and battling gusts on a craggy cliff was a bit nerve-racking , so we decided to come back in milder , warmer weather , in the hope of seeing puffins.

If you're in the area, I'd recommendation stopping by. There's a small, free car park, and you can wander as far as you'd like. You are quickly rewarded with great views. The path is not particularly hard going, but, as others have said, there are steep drops at times. I went on a Sunday morning, and only saw one or two other people. Lovely!

One of the most impressive geological features along the Aberdeenshire coastline and there are several to distract you along the A90. This one is a photogenic promontory with a collapsed cave. The views of the cave and the coast are absolutely stunning and would make a picture perfect postcard.

Beautiful views. Go see the wild life.
Plenty of photo opportunities mind and ensure you have good foot ware. If prepared you can walk for miles along the coastline.

Stunning views all around especially with the sun setting, path is a bit tight in areas so need your Witt's with you when walking up and back down or if there's a other people trying to get past you. plenty of parking with a bus stop across from it unfortunately I don't know what buses go past. Well worth a visit

Hi 👋 , would this walk be ok with a buggy?
Thanks
Skrevet 18. oktober 2018
No chance, only suitable for tightrope walkers, mountain goats and fools. 😨

A backpack or carrier would work, but it is not a paved path. We hiked down to Slain Castle, and there were times the path was maybe only 1ft wide.

Where is best to see the puffins up round past the pot or right towards stains?
Skrevet 27. mai 2016
There have been reports of Puffins being seen at the Bullers of Buchan, However I have never seen them there but I did see Puffins further north of this point and spent a brilliant morning taking photographs.

Hi when parking at the main Bullers car park here is best to see puffins?
Skrevet 27. mai 2016
Your map shows the location in the wrong place. It is located between slains castle and the main A90, not south of cruden bay as your image depicts. Please rectify.
