The plastic cones at the entrance is absolutely awful,, they could use nice planters to stop people turning in here, its embarrassing to the people of Glasgow and a terrible entrance to any country park.
As is the huge avenue of police cones once you enter the park to stop cars parking.
Surely logs that are lying all over the park could be used to instead, which also could provide much needed seating along the road, especially now that the parking has become unaffordable to locals and I have to walk a long way in after parking outside. The cones have been there for an unacceptable amount of time thats why I took the time to write this review.

If you are planning a trip to Glasgow, make sure to include Pollok Country Park in your itinerary. It's a breath of fresh air and a must-see location. Most people just walk around the park, but there are some fun things you can do at Pollok Country Park.

I spent a full day at pollok Park reacquaining myself with my favourite part of Glasgow after 40 years away. It was a lovely experience and brought back a host of happy memories. The gardens are still well laid out although the flowers are now getting past their best. Pollok House was closed for refurbishment but the grounds around it are still open to wander around. The Parterre Gardens are really nice.
i also spent some hours at the Burrell Collection which also was amazing and has so much more in it that when I last visited.
I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive the gift shop is and managed to secure a few presents to take home.
Sir William Burrell has indeed left a fine legacy for the people of this wonderful City,
The option of a shuttle bus to take you from one part of the Park to another is also a great idea, although I chose not to use it.
Oh, happy memeories. Thank you Glasgow and Pollok Park.

No nearby parking for out of town guests. We have a disabled family member and there was nowhere to park to view the cattle or easy access to paths and parkways.

Popped in here with a few friends and we enjoyed a lovely walk around the country park. We saw Highland cows which was a real highlight. Some cheap and free parking available depending on whereabouts you park. In the sunshine, this made for a brilliant walk!

Didn’t stay. £5 to park , ridiculous for a short cafe stop or walk . A great way to encourage people to use of outside space. Not !

This is a lovely and vast park, surrounding the Burrell Collection.
It's great for an hour or two stroll.
Don't miss the highland cattle area, as the cattle sometimes gets really near the fences.

I really ⁇ seeing the cows from the highlands. There you can give them to eat herb and even make them parties. It is only a 15-minute drive from the center of Glasgow, so if you have the opportunity I highly recommend you to come. You will be sure to see the famous Highland Coos that are hard to find.

Yes, the paths were very accessible for cyclists and pedestrians. There were a few hilly bits!

Can we park inside Pollok Park on a Friday morning ..
There is a sign that you cannot park at weekends but not sure when they mean.

Depends which direction you approach from. Dumbreck rd.and Pollokshaws rd. are posibillities but both involve long walks to pollok house.

Hello! I will be visiting Scotland in June 2020 with a group. After spending the morning in Glasgow we have several hours on our own. I am a Pollock and am just learning about the Pollock clan sect of Clan Maxwell. I am very interested in visiting the Pollok house and the Pollok Country park. Can someone please advise the easiest way to get there? I'll be starting from the Kelvingrove Art Gallery/Museum area. Also, does anyone know if there are any existing buildings/ruins of the Pollock castle that can be seen here? I think the original castle was destroyed by fire and then eventually demolished in the 1960's, but read that some of the outbuildings may still exist. Also any information about the park itself, what not to miss, etc. I'm very excited about this trip, any shared information will be much appreciated!

Thank you Denis! I have a Glasgow map and was thinking about the rail, so good information on timeframe rail vs. taxi. I've done a bit of research, shame about the Burrell collection, but the grounds and gardens of Pollok house look fantastic, and I would love to see the highland cows there. Very excited to visit your lovely city!

I’m sure I am too late but for the benefit of others if you go into pollock house they give a printed sheet with exact directions to get to the fairy garden. (A popular request!). I kept the directions and will upload with my review .
