We had 12 golfers from the states visit Scotland this September. The weather was perfect. Our group has handicaps from 5 to 25. Nairn championship course was considered by all of us to be the most difficult course we played (but not the most well known) all week. It was a fantastic experience from check in to the end of our rounds. Pro shop personnel were friendly and helpful. The course was in great shape and views from the course were fantastic. Highly recommend.

I booked a round at The Nairn GC in conjunction with a two round offer with Nairn Dunbar GC. Well worth doing in my opinion.
This was actually booked at Nairn GC, with particular thanks to Kiefer Brown, who sorted me out with an afternoon tee time with two other visitors.
To John and Giles, thank you for your excellent company. Really enjoyed the round and the conversation. Some very tidy golf undoubtedly helped despite the 3 club wind against us on the front 9.
The Nairn GC is a classic Scottish links with a great heritage particularly in terms of designers and tournaments. Anyone with a bit of knowledge will be aware that NGC is one of those ‘you really should play if you can’ courses. It does not disappoint in all aspects. Interestingly the beach is in play should you find it.
The staff are all very helpful and the starter was particularly so in terms of his advice for the outward holes before we set off. He wasn’t wrong in his suggestions that was for sure.
6 of the opening 9 holes run straight alongside the beach, or very long bunker depending on your play, with views across the Moray Firth. The greens are perfect, bunkering ready for the errant or overly ambitious player, and rough needing to be avoided. It is worth saying that the course is relatively flat which makes depth perception tricky if your tee shot is not on the fairway. My advice is to get a clear line on the ball when you last saw it and make a note of the hole distance as the rough can be penal and there is a lot of heather which grabs the ball so whilst you might expect to start looking say 200 yards from the tee you are well advised to start the search slightly earlier as the ball can ‘sit down’ quickly in the heather. It is also worth noting where you playing partners are if they are on the fairway. If you hit a similar distance then you are unlikely to be at that distance.
The back 9 generally plays with the help of the breeze although holes 13, 14 and 15 play across it. The 13th and 14th are a bit more hybrid links / heathland to both look at and play and have the only real elevation. The 14th is a lovely par 3 with probably the best views of any of the holes. The course finishes with a very good par 4 17th with a burn across the front of the green. The hazard is actually drivable in the right conditions so something to be mindful of. The 18th is a super par 5. The green is just about reachable in two with a reasonable amount of help from a fast fairway and helping weather
but be aware that OOB is a short distance behind the green.
This is a classic ‘grown up’ links of the highest quality with a lovely clubhouse lounge looking down the course providing a great view of the first and eighteenth holes.
If you like your links golf in Scotland, or anywhere for that matter, then put Nairn on the list of courses to play. I would not expect you to be disappointed.

The course is a great old school links course. Don’t understand critics of halfway house. Fully staffed excellent meat pies. Not to be missed.

A wonderful course - a true test and very fair indeed. The staff in the clubhouse couldn’t be more attentive and welcoming . The course is a must .

We had an excellent round of golf at Nairn Golf Club. The weather was outstanding and my wife and I had a caddy who helped us greatly around the course as it was our first time to play it. We spent a few pounds in their pro shop, which was excellent, and enjoyed their restaurant after our round of golf. The course was in excellent condition. We walked the 18 holes in less than 4 hours. Of course, it was windy. While expensive, we played using the Nairn Ticket for 225 pounds, which allowed us to play one round at Nairn Golf club and one round at Nairn Dunbar golf course. We would gladly spend that again to play these courses. Also, we played the par 3 course at Nairn Golf club and enjoyed it as well. Additionally, we chose to rent clubs from Nairn Golf club and ended up renting Taylormade Stealth clubs, which were better than our own clubs, which are also Taylormade. Folks in the pro shop were very pleasant.

This is a fabulous links course. The course is magnificent, well laid out and each hole is very well laid out. The views are incredible on each hole - particularly 13 and 14.
One of our group had a caddie (Paul) who added to the overall enjoyment of all of us.
The pro shop is well stocked and we were made to feel very welcome wherever we went at the club.
We had a great lunch in the clubhouse and the panoramic views of the sea and the course from the clubhouse were excellent.
We had a fabulous day there and will definitely go back again.

I played this golf course in excellent weather. I was made very welcome indeed by everyone I met at the club including all of the staff. The clubhouse facilities are excellent and again I was made to feel very welcome.
Course is a great course and the speed of the greens were fast and true. The starter was a lovely man indeed and we shared a laugh just before I started which put me at my ease. A very good test of golf and worth the money.

This would be a taxing course on a windy day but we struck perfect conditions. Typical links course, Out& back, hugging the shore line. Close mown turf and firm ground ( steer clear of the gorse)! Greens read true. Some challenging holes ( surprising, but no blind shots)! A very enjoyable round ( keep your eyes peeled for dolphins)!

Played the course in Mid October the course was in fantastic condition especially for this time of year at the end of a season. The greens were awesome and putted so well. All the changes over the last few years have made an already good course incredible. I wish I could play my golf here every week.

Stunning course and amazing hospitality. One of the best courses and clubhouse I’ve played. The whole team go out of their way to make your day very special.
