A 7.5 mile circular walk which takes in panoramic views of Loch Thom, Firth of Clyde and mountain views in the distance. Paths were good and easy to follow. There was some uphill walking but nothing too strenuous. The best part of the walk was the lack of other people. A hidden treasure.

The full 7.5 mile Cut circuit only took 2.5 hours to walk. Shorter than stated online

The actual walk is easy enough, only a moderate uphill section at the end.

The views of the mountains in the distance and the River Clyde are beautiful and well worth it.

The ruins of the bothys and stone bridges are also very picturesque.

If you are looking for an easy afternoon walk this is a good idea.

I think a lot of these negative reviews are just reviewing a Cafe.. .

We could not have picked a better day to visit here.

It was warm, sunny, not too busy, and, there was hardly any wind.

It was a pleasure just to wander about along The Cut on such a day and admire the spectacular views that kept appearing at every turn.

Sadly, due to the ongoing pandemic, the centre was still closed, but there were helpful rangers to hand to answer the same questions again and again.

I always rent a car while visiting Scotland and I am forever drawn back to the top off Peat rd and the breath taking views of the Clyde.
It is nice and peaceful and the fresh wind on your face makes the hot tea taste even better when you get back inside.
We always end up driving the back road either all the way to Largs or the turn off to inverkip or the old IBM area depending on the weather and time.
Thia to.e was even more special as we took my 89 year old dad with us and two bottles of non alcohol beer and some good old music. Enjoy your ti.e today because you don't own tomorrow. We just returned to Canada before the Coronavirus came to light and who knows when we will see it again

A good 10km circular walk! Start in a an clockwise direction for stunning views of the Clyde. Take a picnic there's places to stop and have a rest and enjoy Loch Thom, the River, and the Mountainside.

The Greenock cut and visitor centre is ideal for nice family walk with great scenery and waterfall. Great for kids to get round and breath in the fresh air.
After walk visit centre for juice /coffee. Up from the centre you have Loch Thom which you can do a spot of fishing for a fee. Just great to take kids away for 1hr or so away from computer / mobile phones.

Do the full cut loop at 10km you won't regret it. Do it anticlockwise going passed Loch Thom. At first you'll think this is drab but 20 minutes later Turing left by the cottage you'll understand why you even woke up that morning. At 230m up it's even going along a great path with outstanding views. Bothies waterfalls sheep and nothing but a 270 view of the Clyde Bute and Arran simply the best kept secret but after googling it one of the top 50 walks in UK. Coffee at the café is good. Dog friendly too 🐾🐾

The walk is circular and mostly flat, paths are fine for walking, spectacular views as you make your way round. Lots of places to sit and rest if needed. If you follow the path you cant really get lost but i would have liked to have seen markers marking the miles, we were first timers and unsure how long the walk was, it felt like we were never coming to the end, we walked this on a very hot day. Its a lovely walk with a cafe at the end. Plenty of parking too.
