This is a small park that is being ruined by the Council hosting too many large scale events. Every weekend there’s a football tournament, or a cycling event or dog shows or something. It makes the site unusable for everyone else. Inconsiderate users that are visiting for these events cause issues with parking and traffic. A real shame as it’s lovely and good for wildlife when it’s not being disturbed.

Started our cycle from here to come out to Ayr and back via golf course, woodland paths and river. The park has lovely woodland and pond walks with a massive green space we used for frisbee and football.

Back again for another fabulous visit, the wildlife is unbelievable with such a large variety of birds, we took peanuts with us this time and had Robins eating out of you hands, we even saw Nuthatches which are very rare in Scotland. Lots of squirrels wanting the peanuts as well. I was so pleased that we had booked a table in their tearoom at lunch time as the place filled up just after we sat down, the food was first class along with the service that we received. Can't wait to go back, well done to management and staff for looking after us.

Met up with family and had lunch in the tearoom. The food along with the service was first class. We then visited their fantastic art gallery before taking a walk around the park looking at the wildlife and the wooden carvings , we would highly recommend Rozelle Park to friends and family, but would insist that they take a large bag of peanuts and bird seed with them for the the squirrels and birds as they are so tame. Can't wait to go back.

The grounds are big enough to avoid the crowds, with lots of areas for a picnic, or book a table at the tearooms, I like to see the grounds in the different seasons, enjoying the fresh air and great trees, plants and sculptures. An ideal day out combined with a visit to the galleries

Arrived at the tea rooms and there was a sign saying "wait here to be seated" so we waited....and waited....and waited. In the end we left as it was getting a bit embarrassing to be standing there being ignored whilst people at tables stared at us.
If you are going to have a wait to be seated sign at least have the common courtesy to check if anyone is waiting. Very poor.

We visited on a lovely day which was very fortunate.
We particularly enjoyed the Poppy trail
The carved wooden sculptures were a poignant memory of all the sacrifices made in WW1.
Would definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely park nearby to where we were staying. Plenty of parking and lots of different routes to walk. Just a shame there were no maps to guide you round....we stuck to the main part...around the lakes, then through the woods and across the field back to the car.

This was our first visit here and we thought it was a lovely park, with lovely wooden carved statues and a duck pond with loads of birds and squirrels all around.
We didnt like that there was no map of the park that we could see, we had never been before and the paths were hidden away by the trees and the roads to get into the park were so confusing and rather narrow with arrows pointing in both ways, the cars in front of us were confused as well. There was no passing places to let vehicles get by, as this was the exit too, it should be a one way system with better signage!

We loved picnicking by the ponds, watching the ducks, swans and a wee robin. We enjoyed the gallery. It was a nice day out in gorgeous parkland.

If you mean the free festival at Rozelle in May, then no, tickets are not required for that. Just pitch up and have fun!

Where is the parking within the park?. I will visiting very soon, with two older parents, who have blue badge status, and wish to park at the House. I will be accessing the park via the main entrance off of Alloway Rd B7024, but having not been for some years, have forgotten which road/roads to take once I have entered the park.

Just follow the road straight up and it takes you to Rozelle House where there is adequate parking space. I’m sure it’s signposted when you enter the park

does the park still have the pitch n putt golf course?
I have a few friends coming over from Greenland and would like to take them to a typical Scottish pitch n putt course. Having read Sam Torrance's autobiography I know he waxes lyrical about this course.

Hi,
Sorry, I have no idea.
Hope you find it. Or an acceptable alternative.

Hi, I just wondered if you have to pay entry to the park/gardens? I am taking my dog on holiday with me and wherever I go, so does my dog. I don't want to pay everywhere I take him walking haha

Hello...
My cousin and I will be attending Burnsfest May 6th. We are from southern California and aren't sure about what to wear. Should I pack my wellies?
I have been to Scotland, but wanted to know if it is muddy in the park?

Hi, I live in the area, about 25 miles away. My inclination is to say No, but that is risky. I never wear wellies, I was there yesterday and it was very dry underfoot. If you are a lady I would avoid heels! basic wellies can be bought in local discount shops cheaply. I would leave them at home. If there is anything I can help you with to make your stay more enjoyable please just ask there is much of interest in the area. In return, perhaps you could bring a little Californian Sunshine!

Hi is there a playpark or climbing frame etc here for kids? What can a 5 year old do here? Any events held early may? Suitable for den building in the woods? Near to Craig Tara caravan park?
Many thanks xxx

No playpark but it is fairly near the caravan park, probably a long walk or car.
There are loads of wood walks, ducks to feed and events but you need to phone or go online to check what's on.

Enter the park by the main entrance, park by the Art Gallery then walk directly towards the woods away from the gallery. You will pass a children's play area next to the fenced pond/lake, bear right about 100 metres and you will come across them. They are carved from the remains of felled trees and are very good! When you arrive at the first you can then take a circular walk around the cleared area and you will come across some more. although not a hard walking area it is a prepared walking area and usually is not very muddy. It is well worth a visit. You will also find others around the park, for example just as you enter the main entrance there is a Poppy carved on a tree stump on the left hand side almost beside the bungalow, Also next to the gallery there are some beautiful bird carvings in the remains of very large tree. Well worth a visit!
