The Crown seems to be the only place in town where you can have a proper dance. If Lee Hynes is DJ that night, you know the music will be good too.
The downside is the floor layout. The constant stream of people crossing through the dance floor to use the toilets is frustrating.
On a recent night out, imagine my shock & surprise when I got to the dance floor & could feel a fan/ air conditioning!!! In all the times I had been there before, I had not felt any air conditioning being used so it was such a nice surprise to be able to dance in an environment at a comfortable temperature 😊. Please, please, please (!) start using the air conditioning on a regular basis!
I've always enjoyed the food in The Crown. It can take some time to be served sometimes but other than that, it's good.
Overall, I think it's one of the best places to go if you want to have a few drinks with friends & dance all night!

Bar and outside areas are decorated really nicely however the food and service totally let the place down.
We sat in the front bar for food, I had to go to the bar to order drinks and then request that someone to drop down menus. Eventually got the menu but then couldnt locate anyone to order the food from.
When the food eventually came it was totally inedible. 3/4 of both of our dinners were left but the waitress never even asked if there was a problem when she collected the almost full plates.
A real shame the service and food quality are so bad because The Crown area are really making an effort to improve Wexford town but it will be a waste of time if people wont return due to above issues.

Are we all reviewing the same place here? The Crown has a nightcub attached; we were in the main bar, in the outdoors covered part.
The decor is nice, the atmosphere very pleasant and the food was great. I had the steak sandwich, which was well presented and very tasty. Service was good.
Toilets clean and very ornate.

Absolutely awful!
Food & service terrible.
By second course, we had still yet to receive cutlery. We were told that a finger bowl would arrive, never did. We hadn’t even a serviette between us. Had to steal some that was left over at the side of the bar.
Food was worst I’ve ever had. The wait was so long for it to arrive. When it did, it was like rubber. Waiter arrived carrying Thai curry as it slopped along the floor. My husband said it was horrible and he eats anything!!
Told bar man that it was the worst meal I’d ever had, he didn’t even seemed surprised.
Never again!

14 of us booked here for my mother's 80th birthday. Awfull!! Service so bad, food not much better. Ordered chicken wings for the table, very average. We had finished the starter and still hadn't got any drinks which we had ordered first. Had to go to the bar to remind them. Seafood pasta and lasagne were very dry and people left most of them. Fish not good, sweet and sour chicken was also left. Burgers seemed to be OK. The sandwiches we had for our lunch in another bar were ten times better than the food served here. I only read reviews after and there were a LOT of bad reviews about the service. AVOID!!!!!!

Absolutely shocking ignorant staff behind the bars never been spoken to by a barman like I was last night. I’ll never step foot in there again. I’ve never had good experiences in there but I thought after few years it would have changed but it’s got worse. Staff have no experience & just serious attitudes.

I’m sad to say our experience wasn’t great ,this was our 2 nd trip to Wexford and to the crown ,so 4 visits to the crown ,we sat at the bar for all visits,finding a bar staff member was a problem as they keep disappearing,my husband drinks Guinness and when they pulled the pint they would disappear again and had to wait again for them to return to top the pint off ,on occasions there were customers just standing for ages at the bar looking for drinks and nobody to serve them ,again very disappointing as it’s such a lovely bar

Myself and my friends always go to the crown bar in wexford when we can get the chance, on the 10th of June 2023, we decide to head out to the crown we bought drinks , shots and cocktails. We were out enjoying our night and having a great time dancing on the dance floor until my Cousin took of his jacket as it was to warm and a certain bouncer came over to him and put his hands on him and said "u put that jacket back on you now" My cousin was confused as he was wearing a t shirt with his shoulder and arm exposed ONLY!! The bouncer had came back down to my cousin for the 2nd time laying hands on his and warning him again to put the jacket back on! My cousin was very upset over this situation we all were because that has never happened before, the bouncer was pushing past everyone to get at my cousin only for a linked my cousins arm and I got him out before the bouncer could do any more harm. I'm sorry but we will never been seem in there again the have lost valuable customers and that bouncer needs to be fired for been homeaphobic and discrimination I'm absolutely appalled by the behaviour that went on

We sincerely apologise for the distressing experience you and your friends encountered at The Crown Bar in Wexford on June 10th, 2023. I was alerted to this situation yesterday and I personally want to assure you that a thorough investigation is currently underway.
We want to emphasize that any behaviour exhibited by our staff or bouncers that is discriminatory or disrespectful towards our customers or colleagues is completely unacceptable. We take immense pride in creating an inclusive environment at our establishment, where everyone feels welcome, safe, and comfortable. Therefore, it is truly disheartening to read your review, and that our team did not make you feel this way.
Please know that I am committed to rectifying this situation and ensuring that such incidents do not occur in the future. We deeply regret the discomfort caused to your cousin and to yourself, and the negative impact it had on your overall experience.
Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. We will take appropriate action based on the outcome of my investigation, including addressing the behaviour of the bouncer involved.

Have been lucky enough to eat and stay here on a couple of occasions, the food is amazing and really good value for money! The staff could not have been nicer went above and beyond for us and were really knowledgeable for food and drink recommendations, the cocktails were one of the highlights! The rooms are so modern with LED lights, really comfortable beds and no noise from downstairs. Had a great time dancing to the live music in the late bar. Can’t wait to come back again.

Celebrated eleven years married in the Crown last weekend. We had an amazing night from start to finish, we had dinner in Jaspers restaurant. Every course was delicious, the wine was spot on and the staff were extremely attentive. We then went to the crown. I had a baileys martini, it was so good. After we went into the crown live to see Qween, they were fantastic and extremely entertaining.
Would really recommend a visit here. It's the whole package from dinner, drinks to entertainment
