Fantastic experience to celebrate my Dad’s 80th birthday. Museum Director Jacqui & team were accommodating and attentive, and made birthday boy feel special. We were a diverse family group ranging from age 15 to 80 but all of us learned something interesting and enjoyed the exhibits and the talks. Quite a nostalgia trip even for the youngest.

The museum is an incredible experience. The reconstructions of the first computers built to crack codes in the first world war are fully working with knowledgeable volunteers explaining what they do.
For those who remember the first microcomputers the fully interactive displays are sure to bring back a wave of nostalgia.
I will be visiting again.

This museum is amazing. We were treated to a talk about breaking the enigma code and a working model of the bombe was started up. After, we saw the colossus. The staff and volunteers were very knowledgable and enthusiastic. I’m not very interested in computers and technology normally, but I thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

It's a shame only five stars are available, because this place deserves more. One of the most interesting museums anywhere in the UK. WW2 was shortened by two years, so said Winston Churchill, because of the work done here, and it's an absolute must for anyone with even a snippet of interest.

Fantastic day out. Such a lot of history. The oldest computers even work! All the guides are volunteers and are enthusiastic, super knowledgeable and so friendly! We had a lovely day. Even the very small cafe/gift shop was run by a very friendly engineering student.
All in all one of the nicest places to go.
Thanks Bletchley National Museum of Computing. We will be back!

We cannot recommend this museum highly enough. It is rare to come across such naturally knowledgeable & enthusiastic guides in this day & age. The gentlemen that work voluntarily at the museum impart information about the history of computing in such a way that geeks & nerds devour it & those who have little knowledge are enthralled. We did the 2 hour tour & then went back around it all again to read the information & chat further to the chaps, however the tour may suit most. The collection is the largest & most comprehensive in the world, presented very well & professionally. Go & see it for yourself

I had the most epic guided tour of The National Museum of Computing last weekend: going from Enigma machine to Cray supercomputer. Big kudos to Robert Dowell — what a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide! ★★★★★

I would strongly recommend anyone who visits Bletchley Park not to miss this museum. Whilst BP might give you the atmosphere of 40s wartime code breaking, it is in this building just up the hill that its spirit continues, with complex machines built, tended and explained by skilled enthusiasts. Not only that, but the subsequent decades of computing hardware and software

Thank you for leaving you thoughts and comments, I would be very happy to speak with you about your visit to The National Museum of Computing on the Bletchley Park Site, I would like to investigate which day you visited as we were not open on the 14 February 2022. We pride ourselves on being a hands on working museum and since reopening the Museum we have ensured the experience is interactive with our machines on and running from Colossus to the present day and expert demonstrators available to deliver to all visitors.
Please do contact me to discuss Jacqui Garrad email: Museum@tnmoc.org

Is the admission to the National Musuem of Computing included in the admission to Bletchley Park, the Codebreakers bit? It’s only referred to on the map

Why dont you advertise that you have a replica Bombe and Colossus in your museum?Spent a frustrating time at Bletchley park, only to find everything has been relocated.Due to time and money we didn't have the opportunity to visit.could of spent the entrance fee to Bletchley park with you instead!

Can you combine the visit to the computer museum with Bletchley park.
Is there places to eat nearby.
Yes can visit both Bletchley Park Trust and The National Museum of Computing on one but please note we are separate organizations with separate admissions charges. We only have a very small cafe selling snacks but there are several dining options at Bletchley Park.
Kind Regards,

How long does it take to visit the museum?
Stratman2011
Newport Pagnell11 bidrag
Depending on how much information you want to glean, I would allow at least two hours. If you want to also take a tour in the Tunny and Colossus Galleries then I would allow 4 hours.
Hope that helps.

Question to Dave L: you mentioned Tommy Flowers Colossus machine, which is quite right , but what is "Turnings 'Christoper" - never heard of it and I work there!!

^^ for the above answer I meant the Bombe
My mistake
Stratman2011
Newport Pagnell11 bidrag
Unfortunately, Anarchon's description of TNMoC is incorrect. Colossus was designed to find the Lorenz wheel start positions and the wheel switch patterns. These settings were then plugged up on the Tunny machine and the characters on the message tape (from which Colossus had found these settings) were then input into Tunny which then decoded the message and produced the original raw German.
