I relatively regularly walk the 'grand dog' here & always impressed by how large this park is with plenty of space to give an active dog a good run. I'm aware of the parks significant history from having attended (an excellent & very informative) talk a few years ago, so it's really good to see it appears to be so well cared for, & an increasing number of wild life areas being developed.
Think those of us within visiting distance are very lucky to have this lovely green space.

There are two free carparks one at the top of the hill by Elmdon church and the other is accessed from Tanhouse Farm Lane and is close to the lake.
It has been expanded in recent years to include a nature reserve which is a large area that was previously farmers fields. The expansion has also taken in an area that was previously an old walled garden. Wellies are often needed in this area.
On our last visit we noticed there had been substantial improvements to the walkways in the woodland area next to the lake.
It is a very attractive park and very popular with dog walkers. We visit during the week as it gets very busy at weekends.

We are so lucky to have parks. Elmdon has a play area for children, a stream, a lake, an old parish church and great slopes for sledging on if we get snow. A nature reserve is on the doorstep too. Obviously spoilt at times by a very small number of dog owners who don’t clear up dog mess and also litter left by the selfish. But a tremendous facility that we should cherish.

Gorgeous walks around a huge park with lake. There are swans, ducks and geese. There is a small pier where children and people feed the ducks. It's got a hill which is a climb up to a church. There is a walled garden at the top of the hill.( Difficult to find )
Sledging in this park when it snows is a delight. There is a small Brook that goes through the park with three little bridges going over.
The park has a play area and tennis court. Although nets are often broken.

This is a large green park, it enjoys a couple of lakes with geese and a pair of swans who share their new cygnets annually, such a pleasure to watch. There is a well maintained children’s playground where digs are not encouraged to ensure children are safe and not frightened. The park has well maintained walkways but possibly needs more parking availability especially when football teams play and events take place. My only criticism is that the lake and stream could do with more tic, often lots of debris causing blockages etc.

I have been going to this park when I was a child. I am now 56 and, although don't go, drive past it every Sunday. Always children playing in the Summer and Sledging in the Winter. Lots for everyone

Fabulous park. Wide open spaces with a lovely lake and ducks. Church is amazing and you can walk on footpaths or in the woods. My 4 year old grandson loves it.

Have the tennis courts been re-surfaced yet?
The courts in the other borough parks are excellent but those at Elmdon were awful last year

Hi can you get to see the planes taking off from anywhere in the park? Thanks Caroline

Hi there , elmdon park is ok to watch them go over but you are better parking at marston green train station and walking over the bridge and following the walk into sheldon country park , it's 10 minutes walk and there is a fab place where the planes literally fly over your head , it's a very straight forward walk ... Or the other option is to go to the pigsty bistro restaurant, lovely outside area and you can see the planes lovely and really low ...

No to both car parks but you can park by the side of the park, on the road if you can't get a space.
