Visited Mr Lams on Christmas Eve with a group of friends and had the set menu. It was such a lovely afternoon, and the food was amazing. The only problem was, there was just so much of it and we couldn’t finish it. The staff were so helpful and attentive and we’ll definitely be back.

Had a great time at the Guild hall to go and see the Seven Drunken Nights. The staff were lovely and helpful.

The Stu Francis show was as expected great with him on top form. The Charter theatre is tired, drab, dark and in need of an uplift. Maybe this was why so many of the audience spent more time going to the bar, then going to the toilet then going to the bar etc. etc. i should have paid for the amount of the show I saw with the number of excuse mes, spilt drinks and so on. As with other reviewers the bar was too small and too expensive.

Security guys on duty at the Wet Wet Wet gig last week were superb. Polite, professional and firm when necessary. Special mention to the one singing along to Love is all around! Just had to mention him.

Visited the Charter Theatre yesterday afternoon for the Remembering the Movies show - brilliant! Unfortunately the Charter bar did not live up to the show or theatre - small, dark (black brickwork), cramped, limited seating, people queuing for the auditorium blocking the bar, arrived 10 minutes after it opened but no red wine (preparation?), overpriced drinks (£7 for average white wine in a plastic cup).
Does not compare to other local theatres - up your game Preston!

We've been to both the Charter Theatre and the Guildhall for a variety of events and in both venues views of the stage are uninterrupted and seats comfortable. As a multi-purpose venue it seems to work well for most things. We've seen plays and pantos in the theatre and orchestras and Brass Band competitions in the hall and never had a problem. Staff have always been helpful and cope well with volumes of people. Parking in the nearby multistory provides covered access to and from the Hall/Theatre.

Went to see Chubby Brown and disabled assist was good. Seating was good as well. Staff came and checked several times to see if we needed anything

Never been before- and we’ll never be going again.
Charter Theatre.
Dr John Cooper Clarke - a personal favourite of mine.
Turned up at 7pm - billed as doors open.
He wasn’t appearing until 9.15pm - no prior warning of that.
Had a beer or two elsewhere to avoid paying good money for awful beverages served in plastic glasses, in a packed tacky bar.
Suffered the two support acts that where completely abysmal.
These are the good points.
Tickets for the circle area - not particularly cheap - decent view of the stage but incredibly cramped. Sat on seats that should have been refurbished twenty years ago. No leg room whatsoever - getting along the row was a feat in itself, massive disruption to everyone.
People sat nearby with drinks spilling everywhere, plastic cups underfoot and no room for your legs, feet or coats.
As uncomfortable as Mr uncomfortable from uncomfortable street.
The worst thing and and something I’ll never forget was the heat.
Cold outside but like a tropical gardens inside - something massively wrong with whatever medieval systems are in place to regulate the oppressively overbearing, scorching humidity.
Totally ruined the evening.
Wife left after the warm ups.
I stuck it out to see my erstwhile 70’s hero but couldn’t stay the whole course.
A good evening totally ruined.
What an appalling place.
I’ve been to hundreds of venues but this has to rank as one of the worst.
As an aside- signs everywhere stating ‘ no videos, photos etc ‘
There must have been half a dozen half wits on their respective smartphones near where I was squashed in (I won’t even say sat) recording the show with the backlights shining intensely, detracting from the performance. Particularly annoying - venue staff did absolutely nothing.
To cap it all - some loud mouthed drunken clod was gobbing off inane drivel a couple of seats behind me, to the annoyance of Mr all and Mrs sundry.
What did the attendants do - nothing.
Dr JCC was brilliant though, 40 years since I last saw the Salford bard.
I’d go and see him again but not at this excuse for a theatre.
Terrible place.

Never been to an event at the guild hall before. Was really good, the seats were spacious and some leg room. I would suggest that if you really needed plenty of leg room to get an aisle seat or front row. If you are a larger person once sat in your seat it’s fine, little squeeze to get through the arms of the chair though.
The place was clean and tidy. There was a bar selling draft and bottles. I’m assuming depending on the event in the place they will adapt the things outside. Once you go through the doors to go to your seats there are some steps so might need to check if there are lifts, I’m sure there must be.
Parking at the venue is in the bus station car park. For 12 hours it cost £4. The machine doesn’t give any change. There is a walkway from the car park directly into the guild hall so even if the weather is bad you will be nice and dry

visted for snooker championships, well staged but the seating was a little tight when u are sitting most of the day an night, tired looking areas inside but well organised, only gripe , doors opened 1 hour before games but u then stood an additional 30 mins in holding area where the bar and bookmakers was before actual entrance to rush to seats as no reserved seating

I'm attending a tribute night here and was wondering if you can drink at your seats or is it drinks at bar area only?? Tia x
You can take drinks in to the theatre with you, the bars are open 1 hour prior to the show and during the interval
