An out of this workd place! A must visit once in Slovenia. Easy access but takes a longish walk in the forest to go back to the parking lot but it worths it!

Wow!!! What a stunning place, I love the feeling of being so close to nature.
We arrived just after 8am and easily got parked in P1 parking lot right next to the entrance - parking is 10 euro we paid cash but I think they accept card too.
Arriving early meant we practically had the boardwalks to ourselves and when we arrived back at the lot after 3 hours or so it was very busy!
We set off through the gorge and really took our time because it was so quiet, the beauty of the place is astounding, alpine waters crashing through the rocks, birds singing and the trees showing the first colours of autumn made for an unforgetable experience.
The gorge is a one way system which IMHO is a good thing as the boardwalks are narrow and it would be a nightmare if people were trying to pass each other.
Once out of the gorge you can either wait for a shuttle bus back to the parking lot or walk one of 2 routes - be advised the route back to Parking lot 1 is a steep ascent with steps and some uneven stony bits but we are middle aged average fitness and we managed comfortably, it was a hot day but we had brought plenty of water!! the walk back to the entrance was around an hour and very beautiful.

Easy to follow track through an incredible little gorge. It had photographic scenes every few metres. The ambience was lovely and the coffee shop half way cheery and appreciated!

This gorge is fairly near to Lake Bled and showcases water in an entirely different but also beautiful way. We had a car which we drove from Bled. parking was well organized and not free, but I forget the cost (maybe €5?) It is technically walking distance from Bled, but would be a fairly long walk. We also considered using the e-bikes our hotel had available, but they recommended against it since there's a fair amount of traffic and some narrow roads. It would definitely be possible, though.
Once parked, we bought our tickets for the gorge itself (€10 each). They do sell timed tickets in advance. In early June when we visited this wasn't needed, but perhaps they might sell out later in the summer? We preferred to have the added flexibility of not being held to a specific time.
The Gorge itself is a mainly boardwalk trail of about a mile and a half, following the course of the river as it winds through the gorge. The initial portion is absolutely the most scenic, so there's no need to rush through it. We took plenty of photos and admired the river, gorge, and riverbanks as we walked through.
The hike is one-way, which is a little disappointing since the return trail is not nearly so scenic. It sounds like this changed during Covid, and it does make sense that the boardwalks work better with everyone going the same direction. It would definitely be better, or at least my preference, to have the trail through the forest first and then the beauty of the gorge, since that portion was a bit of a letdown. It is possible to get a taxi or other transport back to the start, but it didn't seem worth spending money on. I didn't investigate, but if you have a car, if there is any parking near the far end of the gorge, it might be nice to start there, walk through the forest to the gorge entrance, and then return to your car. But I don't know whether parking would enable that or not.
No matter what, this is definitely a worthwhile use of your time. We spent about 45 minutes in the gorge, and another 45 returning to our car.

Gorge walk is 1.6 km long and up to 250 Mt deep.
One way track follows the river as it zig zags its way to eventually the black sea.
The views of the rapids are spectacular and the noise of the water is wonderful.
The walk back to the car park is long though but a small price to pay

A short drive and long walk from Bled.
Worth the effort, the walk along the gorge is beautiful. Rapids, pools and sheer rock faces. The hike is only 45 minutes, the trek back a 45 minutes hike through the local village and Forrest. You can also shuttle back to the start.

Hi, I assume the one way system is still in place. Is there a shuttle bus back and if so how frequent is this? Also what time does it stop running at?
Hello, can we park our bikes at the entrance to the gorge? Thank you for your answer. Lucie

Hello! Thank you for your question. We plan on opening for the Easter holidays on the 11th of April, but the opening date greatly depends on the weather conditions. Please check our website before visiting, just to be sure!If you plan on visiting for the holidays, please note that we expect a large amount of visitors. We would recommend avoiding visiting between 9am and 2pm. Hope this information helps!TD Gorje

Hi. When in November did you go? I read in a couple places the gorge is open until early November. I'm hoping to go around the 10th. Thanks!

Hi I think the powers that be advertise that the gorge is closed at certain times of the year in case of snow or inclement weather, and then maybe they decide on the day (especially as early in the winter season as November) whether to open. Sorry I can't be of more help to you. Contacting the gorge itself would probably be your best bet.

Salve, il percorso andata-ritorno è ad anello o per tornare il percorso è diverso? L'itineario è sempre su passerella di legno?

There was a parking person directing us where to go and park when we went. There are two parking lots and we parked at the 2nd one slightly further away from the first one which wasn't bad. We got there around 10 am. There is a price for parking, maybe 5 Euro or something.

Hi, I’m travelling to Bled on February and was wondering how do I get from Bled to this place? Is it even open during that time? And how long do you recommend to spend time hiking here? Thanks in advanced x

Hking sounds nice but in Feb there could be a lot of snow. Details of winter opening I do not know. There would be public transport available.

I am the reviewer for Rushing Water.. who wrongly stated the ticket is valid for 4 hours. It should be for 3 hours only which is ample unless you plan a long picnic lunch at the Sum Falls!
