A beautiful mansion, now a museum with quite a history background. It is next to the lovely Parc Monceau and well worth your visit. The day I was there there were only 3 other people- such a nice experience after so many lovely but crowded museums

A stunning house that belonged to Nissin de Camondo, a French aristocrat who lived at the beginning of the last century, and today it is open to the public with much of what was inside it at the time. Very beautiful and interesting.

A gorgeous gem of a private collection- beautiful XVIII century furniture (chairs, writing desks, screens, paintings...) as well as bird-decorated crockery. The video about the family is informative (and a bit sad). Not too crowded and well-lit. Everything has been organized to show the pieces at their best!

One of the most important sights on my recent trip was my visit to the Musée Nissim de Camondo. I was there 10 minutes before its opening (my ticket was booked for 10:00am) and it was the best possible time I could have wished for: the gorgeous mansion was all mine for at least 30 minutes. I was slowly moving from one magnificent room to another savoring their exquisite decor, which is opulent, but harmonious and not overwhelming. The kitchen, the elevator with wooden walls and two spacious well equipped bathrooms should not be missed.

There are no traces of the Camondo family left: Moïse de Camondo, the owner of the mansion, has no heirs: his two daughters and his second wife were killed in Auschwitz and his beloved son, Nissim, the war hero and the aviator, perished during the WWI (the museum bears his name).

Overall, my expectations were vastly exceeded and everything I knew about the Camondo family from the wonderful book by Edmund de Waal “Letters to Camondo” has come to life. I spent almost two hours admiring every detail of the decor and admiring the views of the immaculate French garden from the windows.

We have long wished to see this very special house. The story behind the family and collection is highly moving. The tour takes about one hour. There is an exquisite collection of 18th century furniture. Well worth a visit.

The Nissim de Camondo Museum stands as a monument to the elegance and refinement of a bygone era, nestled in the heart of Paris, near the picturesque Parc Monceau. My visit to this extraordinary hôtel particulier during my partner's birthday trip was an experience as fascinating as it was moving.
The first impression was immediate: the accessibility and ease of finding the museum were remarkable, with a well-guided route that made the visit a smooth experience. The welcoming and intimate atmosphere immediately caught my attention, transporting me to another era. The vast, richly decorated rooms exuded an aura of nobility and charm, revealing the soul of a now extinct aristocratic family.
One of the most memorable parts of the visit was the dining room, which I personally found to be the height of elégance. The sumptuous furnishings and finely crafted details created an environment of rare beauty, transporting me back in time to the golden era of the Belle Époque.
But beyond the magnificence of the furniture and art objects, the Nissim de Camondo Museum hides a story of tragedy and loss that made my visit even more poignant. The De Camondo family, of Sephardic origins and with a long banking tradition, experienced a series of tragic events that marked the fate of their home and their art collection. From the death of his son Nissim during the First World War, to the loss of his descendants during the horror of the Second World War, the story of this family is an epic of tragic beauty that is intertwined with the artistic heritage of the museum.
The collection of works of art displayed in the Nissim de Camondo Museum is truly exceptional. From 18th-century furniture, made by renowned cabinetmakers such as Oeben and Riesener, to precious gilt bronze clocks and chandeliers, each piece reflects the impeccable taste of collector Moïse de Camondo. In particular, two masterpieces stand out for their extraordinary beauty: the silver table service commissioned by Catherine II of Russia and the porcelain decorated with aviator motifs, known as "Buffon", made in Sèvres in the 1880s.
I highly recommend dedicating at least an hour and a half to visiting the museum, completely immersing yourself in the atmosphere of the time and letting yourself be carried away by the fascinating and tragic story of the De Camondo family. Also be sure to watch the informative video upstairs before starting the tour, to get a complete overview of the history and legacy of this extraordinary place.
In conclusion, the Nissim de Camondo Museum presents itself as a hidden gem in the heart of Paris, a place that enchants and moves at the same time, offering visitors an unforgettable experience of elegance, refinement and historical drama.

Interesting museum with a tragic personal story behind it. Exciting to get behind the facade of one of the many beautiful buildings in Paris and at the same time get an insight into the family's tragic history.

A magnificent private mansion overlooking Parc Monceau.

The place is easy to find, with a well-guided sense of the tour. For lovers of decorative art, this museum is a real gem.

The vast, richly decorated spaces give the place an undeniable aura.

Personally, the dining room represents, in my eyes, the pinnacle of elegance.

Located opposite Parc Monceau, this place allows you to wander from room to room discovering the living environment as well as the collectible furniture, objects and paintings of a rich banker, Moise de Camondo.
The visit is fascinating.

Very beautiful residence from the beginning of the 20th century, with 18th century furniture. The lovely staff, there to explain, not that many people so we immerse ourselves more in the life of the owner. Perfect for a 1h30 visit.
