We had scheduled a day tour trip from Paris to Rouen, unfortunately due to the strikes in Paris, the train system was affected and had to improvise a day tour in Paris. Even though things didn’t go as we originally had planned them, we had an amazing day in Paris. We told Milan to come up with ideas of what we could do that day, that we wanted to do things people usually didn’t get to do or see, and he sure delivered what we asked for! We started the day at the Château de Vincennes, then he brought us to a square where for a short period of time people in Paris where decapitated in masses and moved to common fosses. After that he took us to what I would say is one of the most peaceful places in the whole Paris area, a small church, Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Paix, which are the grounds for a small cemetery for the hundreds of souls who were decapitated just around the corner from there, and later on, the family members of those people. But one of the most important people that had a huge influence for the United States of America, General LaFayette, was also laid to rest in this beautiful place. We walked around the peaceful grounds, got to see the gardens, learned the history of this very special place, and saw the inside of this beautiful church that is being renovated. You can’t ask for anything more private and special than this! After that we went to the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise, where we admired the grandness and artsy of this very intriguing place.
