This is an incredible experience while in the southern Rhone/Provence region. Jean Marc and his wife Alice create a personalized experience into southern French cuisine and wine. Jean Marc personally takes you to the local market co-op to shop for fresh ingredients. He shares the recipe with you as you cook so that you can make your own notes. He is a kind and approachable teacher throughout the class. Alice also prepared snacks and drinks throughout the experience. They then sat with us and ate the delicious meal we had all prepared on their gorgeous porch surrounded by their floral, beautiful garden. Alice even provided us directions to nearby lavender fields to visit. We would highly recommend to all those visiting this region!

What a wonderful experience! Started the morning meeting Jean and his wife Alice with a nice espresso and delicious shortbread cookies. We then visited the local farmers market to shop for our meal. We prepared cold zucchini soup with thyme and ricotta cheese, ahi tuna with diced tomatoes and faba beans as appetizers followed by Stuffed chicken breast with goat cheese and arugula topped with a cherry sauce, as main course and potato nest with oregano, carrots and baby zucchini as side. To complete this feast a delicious peach tart with almond cream flavored crust topped with lavender and a scoop of cantaloupe melon sorbet for dessert . The kids had a wonderful time helping prepare these dishes and the adults learned some tricks of the trade from a wonderful chef. Overall a great time with a very friendly couple! Highly recommend this experience when visiting the Provence region.

Fantastic day with friends - best of our month long trip. Jean Marc and Alice are delightful and very fun to spend a day with. Everything from shopping at the local market to preperations to dining together on the patio. Just fantastic hospitality, knowledge, and fun.

Es geht in diesem Kochkurs nicht nur um das Kochen. Es geht auch um die regionalen Produkte der Provence. Jean-Marc und Alice verstanden es, uns auf liebevolle Art und Weise auf die Besonderheiten dieser Gegend und auf das, was die französische Kochkunst daraus machen kann, aufmerksam zu machen. Die beiden schafften es, in den wenigen Stunden eine sehr schöne Genussatmosphäre entstehen zu lassen. Man durfte nicht nur schlemmen, sondern auch einem professionellen Koch über die Schulter schauen, der es mit seiner Kochkunst verstand, den verschiedenen Ingredienzien den besten Duft und Geschmack zu entlocken.

I have wanted to learn about the cuisine of Provence for a long time. Attending the cooking class with Jean-Marc was way beyond what I expected. The trip to the co op set the foundation for quality and his instruction was the peak of success. The size of the class was ideal, and our classmates worked together as a team. What a great event!

This was the highlight of my three week trip to France. Jean-Marc and Alice were gracious hosts. I thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class - the final result was delicious. And, I got to meet some other lovely participants. By the end of the class, not only did I make a delicious French meal, I also felt like I made new friends. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning French cooking, experiencing Provence, or meeting fellow travelers. It was great.

I had the wonderful experience of attending Jean Marc’s cooking school with a family from New York. The food we make was absolutely delicious and it was so lovely to dine out in the beautiful garden with Jean Marc and his sweet wife. I highly recommend this cooking school, you will truly get a taste of Provence, it’s food, and it’s beauty ! Thank you to Jean Marc and your beautiful, welcoming wife !!

A day with Jean Marc is an immersion into fun, food, and education. From the shopping to the food prep and the orchestration of the whole meal, it is all steeped in education about techniques, skills and presentation. Don’t expect to come and watch like you might at another cooking class. Jean Marc and Alice meet you with an apron and a sheaf of instructions, and, voila, you’re at work in the kitchen under his eagle eyes. Bring like- minded friends and you will have an unforgettable day!

TRULY A HIGHLIGHT. One word describes Jean-Marc’s cooking class: magical. I do a fair amount of cooking, and I’ve been to France multiple times. The one thing I avoid like the plague are touristy venues, cliché experiences and stale, uncreative opportunities that seem to only be offered for the purpose of profit.

Jean-Marc’s class is everything BUT. I don’t really like to call it a class because for me it was like an exquisite special occasion celebration with longtime friends. Jean-Marc and Alice have a beautiful home, an oasis with a wonderful garden and outdoor patio. They are charming and endearing hosts. You almost feel guilty that Jean-Marc is having to relegate his exceptional culinary career to our simple, untrained and uneducated background in “cooking.” But you would never know this, and I get the impression he really enjoys himself.

It’s not just how wonderful his menus are, the quality of the food (produce from the nearby farms and fish pulled out of the Mediterrean, the ease he gives instructions and allows everyone to participate, but even more both Jean-Marc and Alice make the day truly pleasurable.

They start by serving coffee and homemade “petit gateau” upon arrival, and by mid morning they’re opening bottles of wine. I can still taste the soft, freshly made olive bread Alice bought at the boulangerie that morning. I never drink white wine but I can still savor the bottle they served from a local winery.

You almost don’t want to finally sit down to eat because you realize that after the meal is over, it’s time to leave. It is like a family reunion that starts Thanksgiving morning and doesn’t wrap up until late in the evening where everyone is working together, cooking, eating and drinking the most high quality ingredients and beverages you can ever taste, all day long.

Our family of four had a delightful experience cooking with Chef Jean-Marc in Provence. My husband never cooks and my daughter (21) and son (17) are not regular cooks but all were open to a new experience. I sold the idea as a wonderful way to engage the culture and to enjoy a common class as a family. Jean-Marc and his lovely wife Alice were delightful. Our whole family were immediately charmed by their warm hospitality in the lovely outdoor garden dining table. We enjoyed a coffee and a sweet and lovely conversation. Jean Marc explained the planned menu and we were off to the local coop for fresh produce and locally-sourced meats.

Cooking class was hands-on and practical. All of our senses were engaged… touch, smell, sight, taste and hearing. My son, who has a low tolerance for museum visits, was fully engaged in this experience. There was much laughter. Jean Marc and Alice are warm conversationalists as well as experts in their work.

Our menu was delicious, specific to Provence and practical. We roasted peppers, made fish, lovely deserts with apricot compote.

My husband and kids had a wonderful time and we would definitely sign up again if ever in the area. This cooking class was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip to France.
